art style looks fine. but something always feels off about it, whether it's a canned sword animation or whatever. It feels like a third party game. It doesn't look like it has the Zelda polish at all.
Also, the media for the game has been 100% atrocious. TP was hyped up because its pre-release media was AMAZING and worth getting excited about.
Nintendo hasn't even released one trailer that feels exciting and we're how many months away from release?
Well let's take a look at the trailers for TP.
E3 2004: Was only exciting because it was a new Zelda game, and it had a "grown up" art style after Wind Waker. Used some music jacked from Conan the Barbarian (and originally used in an American OoT commercial), and otherwise only showed some
super early gameplay and character designs.
GDC 2005: Showed some interesting things, but nothing too exciting. Well, if you're not excited for SS you wouldn't find it exciting.
E3 2005: Showed off an exciting new world with an intriguing art style, more story, new character (Midna), all coupled with some very exciting music. TP's best trailer.
E3 2006: Almost 100% gameplay, and not shown during the conference. Wasn't too exciting.
Launch: Mostly gameplay but some story, and set to the E3 2005 music. So it was also exciting, but IMO not as well put together as E3 2005's.
The only thing SS is missing is a "story"-based trailer, but everyone always makes fun of people for being excited about the story in Zelda games, so why want that?
I'll admit SS's trailers aren't up to TP's best yet, but people aren't really thinking this through. If you care about the gameplay in the series, and the promise of fantastically designed dungeons, and like the art style, and have heard of the changes they're making, I don't know why you wouldn't be excited.
