What's up with scandis?

I always thought scandis were refined, but lately I'm starting to think of them as rugged, rural folk but rich because of natural resources. Speaking of swedes and nores here, as the danish are kind of different.

I never met a scandi that I didnt like, but I get these bad feelings now when I think of rural norway and sweden, as if its full of neo nazi rednecks.

A russian newspaper (circulation 700.000 in Moscow) called the victims of the shooting cowards and that signify whats wrong with the west. Instead of attacking the gunmen with chairs they let themselves be slaughtered even though they had the numbers of a motorized brigade (not sure?).

Instead of fighting back and overwhelming him they were on their phones facebooking about the the slaughter.

The newspaper also cites the case of a 13 year old in Chechenya that killed a well known thug that murdered his dad.

Aha, was a column by MK:s political commentator Vadim Rechalov. This guy is quite loco, has been in trouble before for accusing a local teacher of being a chechen terrorist (without presenting any sort of evidence), and is apparently on the shitlist of media watchdog Memorial. Dunno why MK keeps him on, I guess they get website hits. All their other reporting on the Oslo thing, including other columns, has been quite uncontroversial
