It's more than okay!

trailers don't do a great job at showing it off, but it's not just a straight through Call of Duty with Bond skin (like Quantum of Solace).  It's made up of many small encounters and some freedom in approach.  I played the Wii game using stealth when I could.

It'll probably bomb terribly, though.

The Wii game ended up being pretty good, right?

I'll definitely keep an eye on this, I'm always up for some Goldeneye, especially an HD update.

Would be great if this was just the multiplayer on XBLA/PSN/PC. But it's Activision so you know, $60 etc... :-\

Its pretty good.  Only knock I had against it was the cinematic stuff interrupting the game and many of its core mechanics are kinda shallow.  Multiplayer maps need to be tweaked too.

seriously. and as if it wasn't bad enough that all the top tier shooters are coming out on top of each other, but now with skyrim being thrown in the mix I don't know what in the hell i'm going to do

I watched Casino Royale again last night. That movie is so good, it almost made me pay ¥2500 for Blood Stone at the import shop tonight. Almost.

I can't imagine anything making me want to play a remake quite this old. It's not like I'm a ninthing.

Blood Stone is not very good, I haven't put any serious time into Goldeneye yet but its miles above Blood Stone in technically sound gameplay.

Blood Stone was so generic it should have been called "Liscensed Based Third Person Shooter".

Why can't they remake Everything or Nothing? You know the only good Bond singleplayer game.

I'm actually looking forward to this. It was semifun when I tried playing it on the Wii with an old style classic controller over the holidays, would love a crack on a good console.

I'm also interested in it, but I have a feeling I should just wait for the inevitable price drop when it bombs.

It will probably bomb hard.  I'll buy it when it drops too.

Why can't they remake Everything or Nothing? You know the only good Bond singleplayer game.

technically that's what Blood Stone is.  at least Bizarre was inspired by it and it has shooting, exploring and driving bits.  I think the problem there was sticking to Daniel Craig's Bond where Everything or Nothing was Brosnan Bond plus dipping into the old Bond films.  Blood Stone's story is very much like Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace's to the point of deja vu.

Everything or Nothing and Goldeneye Wii are the best Bond games imo.  I hope Activision lets Eurocom continue to make the Bond games as long as they hold the license.  Eurocom made this new Goldeneye, Quantum of Solace PS2 (different and better than the other versions), and Nightfire on the PS2.

So Goldeneye Wii is actually good? That's not just Wii-GAF hype?

Might have to check it out. Does it need motionplus?

It doesn't need motionplus.  The pointer controls take a lot of tweaking and have a high learning curve, so you may wanna classicon (dirty pleb option)

oh man, you're totally right.  completely slipped my mind. (that link is broken but I'm pretty sure it's the Gameboy game.)

yeah, it's up there with the other two.  I still have the cartridge for it in my closet.

a lot of it is...but like with Uncharted 2, some of the hype is legit.

I've seen people trashing the next gen version because it wouldn't have Wii pointer controls (though the PS3 version does).

A full-priced remake of 15 year old game being being released within weeks of Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. Yep, sounds like a recipe for huge sales to me!

True but I'm not sure why bother even making it if you just send your stuff out to die. They might as well just stick it on XBLA or something at this point. It would sell gangbusters on that platform.

There's certainly a reason for it, probably something to do with using your portfolio, maybe there's some legalese involved. The same reason they shit out those Bakugan games.

I would wait to buy it later when it's inevitably $15, but I have four roommates now and won't in 6 months.  In a simple cost/benefit analysis it actually has much more value at release for me than down the road.
But that's not a common consumer scenario. This game is being marched out to die.

yeah, I was thinking maybe Activision is required to put a new game every year or two or else it'd have licensing problems.

There will be a Bond 23 game (Skyfall) next year.  Like with Beenox and spider-man games, I'm hoping this year's version is cheap because the movie game will be the real deal.  That's assuming Eurocom is making the Bond 23 game.

Definitely, I just wanted to defend my position of being the only guy in the world buying it at full price.  :(

Know what, I'm gonna go in on this one at $60, too. MW3 doesn't need another tally for opening week from me.

dear activision. it would be awesome if you made future warfare. heres my story, they put soap on the space shutle just in case. they blast off and go into space. then they go into the space shutle cargo bay and theres terrosits in it who were stowing away. its up to soap to use lazer guns to stop the terosits. i think this would make for a VERY capvitating game.
