Fries with mayonnaise, peanutsauce (saté sauce) and onions. Also frikandel with mayonnaise, ketchup and onions. It's a dutch thing.

went to the international festival today, which is basically just a bunch of stands where you can get different nationalities' food. i ended up eating mac & cheese, cheese fries, and pan fry bread, which is basically native american funnel cake. also had some good curry, split pea falafel a big ol plate of delicious eritrean food. goddamn it was all so good!

ever since having a perfectly cooked steak in france, though not my prefered cut of meat, i've been on a mission to replicate the results given my limitations. so i've been having ribeye for the past three days and so far so good, though i think it's more of a problem with my oven cooking unevenly. parts of the meat are perfectly seared blue rare as can be why others are rare to medium rare.

I've been here for 10 years as of July. I'd also been here for 2 years in '93~94, so I've lived in Japan for over 25% of my life. Whenever I think about that, it freaks me the fuck out.

I'll probably move in January or February, and have the family move when they finish their school in April.
