Loaded with chunks of pork
As far as I could tell, they're silkworm larvae. They were deep fried. They weren't too bad, unless I thought carefully about what I was eating. Like eating shell-on fried shrimp, except the filling is nutty.From the same meal, goat:(Image removed from quote.)And soup:(Image removed from quote.)
YUM. And I've been wanting to try bugs! They've been difficult to find in the Bay Area though.
You should come on down to the south bay lots of the Polynesian/Filipino places serve up bugs. There's even some Indian places in Sunnyvale that do cricket curry.
