Back when they announced this I was hype, but since then it seems like everything id set out to do has been done already. Doesn't really look like there's anything here that sets it apart from shooter x.

Game looks good but it's bad timing. If Rage kept the September date, I probably would have bought it day one. as it is, I won't get around to it until December or something. But yeah, I think it looks great and will play it eventually.

Think I'm gonna get this, but on PS3 over 360. I expect the game to run a bit smoother and play better with the 360 controller (as always) on 360, but it's shipping on three discs...the PS3 version is just one blu-ray.

A friend of mine told me Bethesda Insider people (basically peons who work at Best Buy, Gamestop, Wal-Mart, etc.) are getting this and Skyrim for free on the PC version like we did with Brink. Suckers!

I just checked and they have the Xbox 360 downloadable version of Fallout: New Vegas up too. I already have it for PC but I might just go ahead and answer some quizzes/watch some vids to get that too.

that has only happened once with COD and it was only specific people and specific keys. plenty of people have been using intkeys without a problem.

Wow, they really laid into them. I don't disagree with a lot of their questions, though. They're all things I think myself when I look at this game, and it's why I'm going to take my sweet time getting to this one.

its great that an interviewer takes the opportunity to bring up criticisms he has with the game, but it's all ruined because he's condescending about it and focuses on stupid shit. yeah the narritive's generic, but why spend 1/4 of the interview bitching about how it's limited by the lack of dialog trees and a silent protaganist? it's fucking childish. just say what you want to say ffs

Yup, this is exactly how I saw the interview... it's nice to have someone who's not gonna blow smoke up a game dev's ass, but some of the questions seemed a bit out of place... I don't know much about RAGE (is it supposed to have RPG elements in it or is it a pretty straightforward FPS?) but a silent protagonist doesn't seem like much of a big deal for this type of game - plenty of quality RPGs and FPSes featured silent leads.

Brandon Sheffield is still cool though, loved his Game Park 32 writeup on InsertCredit back in the day.

Yeah I read the article and I think we've been simply lulled into unconsciousness by how boring and kiss-ass most gaming press and media are. I didn't think anything there was especially rude or harsh. I think that's probably the appropriate level of asking questions towards any game.

The reality is that nearly all gaming "journalism" is either of the suck dev dick variety or this sucks ass variety. They generally don't actually ask any real questions.

I don't think there is anything there to get overly mad about or anything necessarily to overly praise the dude. It's an interview. It's typical. It only stands out because every other interview for the game is going to go along the lines of:

interview shill: "How Cool is Rage?"
dev: "So Cool!"

Personally I think the game looks cool. Hopefully it is. And I don't have a problem with linear games and don't even necessarily agree with the interview dude. But there was nothing there that in any other industry would be considered "tough questions". Only in games media would that be considered trolling.
