way back when i actually tried to play the p.o.s. ds animal crossing, and i'd always close the ds when i took a break instead of turning it off, JUST LIKE I DID WITH EVERY OTHER DS GAME. but i guess animal crossing just needs a shitton of extra battery power for the town's inhabitants' brilliant a.i. or something, so the game would always die on me. and sure enough when i tried to play the game again, there was that dickhead little mole making me sit through a five minute speech JUST BECAUSE. eventually it got to the point where the game wanted me to type out, word-for-word, a humiliating "apology" that the fucker tried to dictate to me. "nope sorry nintendo, i'm not about to get punked out by a fucking kids game you made!" and that was the end of my shitty stay in animal crossing town.

i only played the GC version but if you ask me there are three things that make animal crossing cool compared to any other MMO slog

1. there is a huge collection aspect to it,the number of shit you can put in your house is incredibly high,i like the gyroid especialy for those that don't know they are little haniwa like statue that make sounds when you touch them

2. animal crossing knows real world event so special stuff happens when it's christmas or april fool's day and such,oh and point 1? of course you get special items on special days

one of the selling point of the game should be how you can talk to the different animal in town (each player gets a different set) and each has his own personality,but frankly they all act like mindless NPC,the best part is when one of them ask you to bring an item to another character which is literaly 4 step away

did they ever improve that? considering that this is nintendo i guess not....

can't stomach the resetti hate itt, guy is hilarious and easily avoided. i sometimes reset just because i miss him (i will cop to playing this game).
he was the best assist in SSBB as well. wow they should've introduced a nook assist where he makes you run errands for him to the tune of 200,000 bells before you can brawl again.

see i took the game to be a reprieve from the rigours of responsibility & everyday life in the real world. tom nook is the only person who wants you to do anything other than pursue your hobbies of bug collecting and fishing all the fish. he is the grown ups. and i hate him.
i will admit, if you take him out of the game it becomes completely pointless. more correctly it becomes apparent how completely pointless it already was. so tom nook is the only fibre stopping animal crossing from being the game it could be. the game where you spend 200 bells on a coffee to no end. the game where you fish for 5 hours just to stock the museum. the game where you write extended love letters to anthropomorphics who will never really appreciate it.

I bought a NTSC Cube. And then a couple of years later I bought a shitty PAL Cube as well, and a Freeloader. I have no idea why. $:-\$
