Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa is hot hot hot. Absolutely gorgeous on Blu-ray.

Yoko Kanno J-pop fluff music videos and mecha battlin' itano circus action.

Some interesting changes are made, so if you have any interest the series is probably still worth checking out first.

Grace is captured by Leon. Sheryl is arrested under suspicion of being a spy and sent to Alcatraz. Tons of other Macross fleets show up at the end for the big fight, including Isamu from Macross Plus. Brera works with the SMS in the first film and isn't prortayed as a bad guy as much. Lots more people die. Ranka does a show at Alcatraz with some nods to Macross 7 and Fire Bomber.

Star Driver pt.2 seems sold out everywhere and every shop is "waiting for re-supply from the manufacturer". Considering Bandai said they're going to stop producing discs in a week or so, I'm a little worried this is going to be a low production run and become a stupid rare high price on ebay title.

Gundam UC vol. 1-4 on Blu-ray are apparently going out of print. The Bandai Entertainment stuff isn't. They'll keep pressing those discs until demand runs out or the licenses expire, whichever happens first.

So I watched Rinne no Lagrange ep1 after duckroll said it was a good mecha show that will be in Super Robot Wars and is by the director of Nadesico.

First of all, SO MUCH MOE/FANSERVICE ARGHHHHHHH

But if you can make it past that, it's actually...well directed seemingly decent mecha show? The art is pretty good and the animation (funded by NISSAN) is really nice, even the cell-shaded mecha fights look pretty darn good for being CG.

I think I'll put up with some underwear shots every ep to get another mecha show. THREE mecha show episodes per week between Aquarion EVOL, Gundam AGE, and Lagrange! After a long ass drought of no mecha shows at all besides Star Driver, who'd have thought they were making a comeback. YAY, it's time for me to get back to liking anime again!

Aquarion Evol 3 - This was great and felt like a classic mecha show ep from the golden era of anime. Very fun, characters are likeable, story babble is interesting, good comedy, feel good mecha anime. The whole show feels like a throwback to late 90s/early 00s SR animes I grew up on. This gonna be good

I don't think anyone could enjoy it if they haven't seen the original Aquarion though. Need to understand the connections and nods.

well allright i bited on this suggestion and err... $:-\$
this was totaly not worth it

1) the plot only works because the main character is a doofus
2) i like tezuka works because he can make creative plots,the first black jack book on this regard is freaking amazing... like i once gained interess in this visual novel where it turns out after an operation the protagonist start to see humans as monster... to my surprise it turn's out that plot is ripped from a tezuka work,but in this one nothing interessing happens
3) the whole thing was unpleasant to read in the way it treats the "villain" being bi-sex,or maybe i'm just a prude guy

I've been watching this, too. You're exaggerating the fan service part, although the scene in the first ep where the girl's cousin pulls her pants to look for...

...definitely fits said description. You also have the weird alien girl wearing a leotard, which is at least pointed out and chuckled at by the other high school chicks when she first shows up.

The show is the standard humans vs aliens fare, and MCD, there are dudes. The way it's playing out right now, the human side uses girl pilots and the alien side is all pretty-boy types.
My main problem with this show is its pacing. It's a little TOO fast. The main girl just accepts getting into a mech and piloting in a life or death battle with no problem. WTF?

Anyway, I'm watching this, Moretsu Pirates, and the best one of them all:

I got the dvd collection of Princess Tutu because it's one of the few classics from the golden era of anime that I always wanted to watch but never got around to. Not a fan of dvds, but can't say no to getting an entire 26ep series for <$25.

magus, you should watch Thermae Romae. It's only 6eps but I think it is up your alley. There's also a manga which you could read instead. Plus you are Italian so it's like learning about your ancestors and how they bathed.
