for reference, I was standing in line at that Batman thing between two groups of nerds having nerd debates and was about to ask one of them to shit on my face to make them stop.  I asked a friend earlier if he wanted to go and he said something like "no I'm not going to stand for two fucking hours to see 6 minutes of a movie coming next year."  but as I was making this thread, I saw an old classmate and actually went back in line to talk with him.

but the prologue was fucking great but holy shit Bane's voice is actually worse than Batman's.  I mean, the noises are nice and menacing, but you can't understand anything.  He sounds a bit like Mr. Freeze from the cartoon, only much deeper.

honestly the prologue was worth the mental torture.  Real IMAX is also crazy and I think I might see the full movie on this.  plus I got a t-shirt I'll never wear.

although on my way out I heard someone say "THAT WAS EPIC" and I was reminded of where I was.

edit:  sorry if I made it seemed like I had real troubles in my life  :heart

There's a difference between "real" IMAX and other IMAXs?

And damn, a two-hour wait for six minutes of footage!?

A friend of mine mistakenly told me it was 16 minutes.  Dunno if I'm gonna bother seeing MI4 at an IMAX now.

Not quite two hours, but around an hour and a half.   There were a lot of people in front of me and at one point I turned around and saw a huge ass line, with people waiting in the cold.  It seems like they had different time slots (I had 10, others had 10:30, etc), but they overbooked to make sure the theater was packed.

The prologue was about the same length as the Joker intro to The Dark Knight, plus you got a trailer showing off a lot.  And a t-shirt!

I'm probably never doing this again.  First and last time.

edit:  I made this thread after ~30 minutes of waiting and was about to leave.  The rest of it wasn't too bad because I was talking with the guy, and we went into the theater 9 something.

There's a difference between "real" IMAX and other IMAXs?

I saw The Dark Knight at a regular IMAX (I guess) and it was more of a giant movie theater (larger screen.  Real IMAX I guess is a giant dome and it wraps around you.  The screen fills your entire field of vision, but it's not like you're sitting close, if that makes sense.
