that reminds me, is there any free software for watching blu-ray on your PC? I have a blu-ray drive from an old PC but it doesn't just run with CCCP/MPCHC like everything else

Should have done that from the start. We rich people have no time for assembling such bullshit.

Andrex, one thing about your PC is that the graphics card will probably be your bottleneck if you plan on playing PC games.  Though it might be better to go cheap now and wait for the next group of cards.

thanks, but is there a way to get menus and stuff? I tried out Xmen first class and it would randomly play bonus features between scenes of the movie.

potplayer is pretty slick, btw.  I got a borderless zune skin.

That's the thought. Keppler or whatever sounds pretty hot. Initially I'll be using it mostly for Dolphin, which is CPU intensive more than anything.

The best Blu-Ray player for PC i've found is ArcSoft's Total Media Theater. Most other apps have issues with sound and menus but TotalMedia has been 100% so far. Also has a nice iOS remote app.

@Linkzg

Not that I know of, sorry.

I currently use (yes, I bought it) CyberLink PowerDVD and for DVDs/Blu-Ray, it got everything I wanted.

Wound up finishing it myself and it works great.  I'm going to spend the weekend trying out some emulated games (I see there's a functioning Model 3 emulator) and Steam games.  Going to fine tune the PC to TV connectivity and since the video card and my TV are 3D, I'm going to try that stuff out as well.

be prepared for disappointment if you're hoping for stereoscopic 3D on your TV. Only works with certain models.

Mine is 18 months old and is rated 7.5 :lol

You have a newer CPU which gives you an extra 0.1 for processor but i have an SSD as the system drive which gives me 7.6. I guess I can hold off on upgrading for another while then!
