Probably also Best Alan Rickman movie ever.  His performance as the Sheriff of Nottingham was a better over the top villain, but let's be honest- that movie sucked other than Rickman.

God, the Costner Robin Hood was terrible.  Like shockingly bad, considering how huge it was at the time (the same year as T2!).  Rickman's performance is like a benchmark for an actor doing well in spite of the rest of the movie, like Bill Murray in Wild Things or Johnny Depp in the PotC movies.

the only christmas tradition I have is watching Die Hard and A Christmas Story.  I see one as nostalgia for childhood, and the other as who I want to be in ten years (a failed marriage, no socks, shamelessly staring at asses, balding, and fighting foreigners).

Jingle All the Way. Best Arnold movie

When I was a kid, I saw that in theaters. I wanted to see Arnold and Sinbad wreck shit. Five seconds into the film, the film burns up and the movie is cancelled. They give us our money back and send us on our way. It was the worst film experience I've ever had to this day. Was God doing me a favor?

I remember vaguely liking the Costner Robin Hood, but I only ever saw it once when I was 10. I remember liking the NES game too!

I liked the Costner Robin Hood when I watched it a few months ago, but the flaws are certainly there. It was more entertaining than Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, though, despite far better production values and more convincingly British Robin Hood.

I'm watching Die Hard and Gremlins tonight actually :bow

Gremlins has a lot of amazing background details.  Joe Dante is a hell of a lot of fun.

I bought a stack of Twilight Zone Magazines from ebay and found they had a four page interview with Dante on Gremlins which gave some more insight into it.  Christopher "I ruined Batman" Columbus wrote it when he was 20 years old and it was originally a dark humorous take on NYC's rat issue.  The working cut of Gremlins was nearly 3 hours longs (released at an hour and forty).  Spielberg was more hands off with this than Poltergeist though he did make a few suggestions (such as Gizmo is the real hero of the film and should be the one who kills Stripe).  Still a great little film.

That prevents one from posting on an internet forum? I guess that's why I've had so many self-imposed exiles.

Yeah, the second one is superior but it's not a Christmas film if i recall.  I'm planning on watching it tonight

The twin geneticists reappear in Joe Dante's Looney Tunes Back In Action as the Warner Brothers.

Christopher "I ruined Batman" Columbus

Say what?

If Columbus had never discovered America, Batman & Robin would have never been made?

I had him and Joel Schumacher combined into one person for some reason.

Dunno why I called him Christopher instead of Chris

I still can't believe Batman TAS had a gay kid named Joel in front of a shoemaker store in that tales of Batman episode. That made me laugh out loud.

Can't find it anywhere. Well its called "Legends Of The Dark Knight" Where there's three kids telling stories of who Batman really is, you get to see The Dark Knight Returns Batman, Adam West Batman and the like. There's a fourth kid who shows up out of no where and talks about how fabulous Batman is, they are like "Lol shuttup Joel" and the sign behind him says shoemaker.

OHHH yea I remember that episode. That joke went completely over my head as a kid

Just watched Gremlins 2 and really liked it.  Certainly far superior to the first film.  The total chaos of Dante's Twilight Zone The Movie segment spread out over an entire film.
