Austin, TX - December 24, 2010 - Members of the popular online video game forum NeoGAF™ should not directly address moderators or poke fun at any post a member of the moderation staff has made, a well-trusted source revealed last weekend.

Well-known hard-ass moderator Blackace has had a rapid-fire ban click for some time and has been known to insert his personal opinion of a member into his ban choices, leaving a puzzled general forum population wondering just what it was that famed NeoGAF™ member "blame space" had done to deserve a ban.

"Bans come and go," says Mr Space, "but when I see the thread about drunk driving and an obvious example of an alleged sexual assault on display in the drunk thread, all without any moderation interference, the forum lens starts to lose its focus. The moderators do try to, for the most part, keep the forum a fun and rewarding place, but bans aren't always explained or even acknowledged by mods. Not to mention that they possess the power to edit any post at and time, totally eliminating their paper trail. That gives them an amount of power that could lead to short-sighted decisions. I'm just saying, hypothetically."

Recently Mr Space's value to the message board was proven democratically. In an uncharacteristic display of not having a stick up their ass, NeoGAF™ mods not only allowed a democratic election of who the best poster on the board was, they embraced it.

Mr Space won the poll handily, despite voting for his rival Timedog. EviLore -- owner, operator, and head administrator of NeoGAF™ -- said he created the thread with optimistic intentions.

"The people seem to love a good poll once or twice per forum iteration, and this seemed like a cool-ass way to let their voice be heard. The whole thing sort of blew off the rails, it was an immediate hit. People were voting, ad clicks were up, it was great."

Not to be perceived as too lenient, EviLore rigged the whole fucking thing. I mean a dude can't make a thread that speaks some real truth, that makes these fucking dweebs look at themselves in the mirror and realize how ridiculous they're being.. no, we can't have that. I don't even give a fuck about that tho, EveLo, it's water under the bridge, the whole thing was just your excuse to soften up the board in a post-TOS revision climate where you're publishing people's posts to gawker blogs and installing viruses on everyone who use the board.. I'm over it. I'm not stupid, I don't care about any of that.. I'm happy to help with the negative narrative you're pushing towards the video game industry and I'm fine with being a clown in your circus of malware and fair-use copyright bullshit.

However, there exist things I cannot proclaim to be cool with. I am not cool with a member of your moderation staff outright trampling on my posting rights and the peoples' decision to elect me a valuable board member. maybe you should have a backbone and hold your mods accountable for bullshit bans that were made under the assumption that every poster is an argumentative asshole that would respond to a post quoting an image with chinese symbols saying "lol no one can read this" by saying "I'm glad you think chinese people aren't people!" and literally meaning it. cool ban man. meanwhile, the forum is in shambles.. PMs are being sent hush hush about an uprising.. listen everyone this is real, this could happen to you. you could be making posts that are fun to read and foster a sense of comradery but it won't matter, you'll be shut up by some guy on a power trip who doesn't like the based god so he holds it against you. it's fuckin bullshit and you know it.

i know what you're thinking.. "what can i do?" look at the fucking amirox saga. evilore is scared as shit to see his administrative and moderation crew outed as incompetent or petty (which is also why my post was edited by the mod in question and also why no one knows why i was banned because there is no reason and this son of a bitch knows it), and will act accordingly to offset the public's knowledge of any wrongdoing with what he thinks the public perceives as justice. this isn't an easy or logical way of making the forum a better place, but it is the way it must be done in the world that he's created, u  have to circumvent the rules by stating the obvious and making your voice heard when it comes to these kinds of things.
