I'm curious about D3 2.0 and the expansion. I really dug D3 but having not played it since the launch weeks I feel like it'd be intimidating to jump back in at this point. Plus, like someone said in the March games thread, it feels like it's been 5 years since D3 came out for some reason even though it wasn't all that long ago.

Played it for a couple of hours. Digging the new wizard skills/focus on elemental damage and builds. Got 4 legendary drops in like 2.5 hours. Also got ok upgrades on a couple of characters (just yellow drops) too.

Combat is still king in the arpg class.

Also, you want to play now for this reason- they added a new gem, diamonds, into the game, that increase all resist. So, it's a good idea to farm them bitches up ahead of RoS probably.

Eh, beating Diablo on Inferno got way easier after I think it was 1.0.3 or 1.0.4. I did it once just to say I did, but once I had absolutely stupid gear on my wizard it really wasn't hard.

I'm digging that the game seems to reward tactical gameplay rather than strategic advance planning now... before, it was, "get this specific gear, use these specific skills, faceroll" and now you actually have to watch your ass, even if you have migrated to the most degenerate build possible like I have.

Torment has sub-settings as well, 1-6. Not sure which one matches up with pre-2.0 Inferno or maybe even launch Inferno.

There was a completely new system added that increased difficulty within the four OG settings called Monster Power that you probably never messed around with; people are saying that Torment I is roughly equal to Inferno Monster Power level 3-4.

Also, keep in mind that all areas will now scale with your level- meaning, if you're level 50, Act 1 Normal won't have pussy ass monsters- they'll be the same level as you. For Wizard enthusiasts, this is the build I've migrated to since CM is not a thing any more

His gear is roughly twice as good as mine as far as raw dps goes- my meteors tend to crit for about 300k, but the stun is what's important. Dude totes sounds like a pudwhacker but his build is solid.

I'm like a lv3 or 4 Paragon right now. When I came back I was wondering why I was so shitty - my armor was great, I rarely die, but my dps was ass. I started finding minor gear that increased my dps a few points...and after a few hours I realized my old gear was my magic find/farming gear lol. I vendored it all mistakenly.

Oh well, the new gear seems better; lots of stat inflation with super high vitality or strength pieces are dropping.

I've actually taken a couple pieces of gear off for upgrades that I found/crafted. My DPS has gone up because of the stupidly large main stat bonuses, too.

Servers are down for extended maintenance for another hour and a half at least... I got home at 1 and wanted to play. I'm gonna cat ass hardcore all night tonight and see how far I can get my barb, I want to unlock paragon levels for HC too.

FatalT- your "army of pets" build worked pretty well with my "spam all the meteors" build, since your pets hold shit in place to get pulverized with meteors.

I got to say though, they made Diablo 3 worth playing now. But they need to make items tradable to guilds atleast. Its frustrating not being able to trade with my guildie friends. I found like 4 sky splitters that i have disenchanted.

I tried continuing with my highest ranked guy but felt a little over matched. So I started over and I'm decked out in rare just after the skeleton king. That wasn't the case the first time around. You didn't see rare until the end of each act. I even have 2 legendarys at this point.

So, here's why hardcore in D3 and hardcore in PoE are two very different propositions, PD- when a hardcore character in PoE dies, they just migrate to softcore. When my level 51 barbarian died today...

Hope you stashed some good items for this eventuality. A good leveling weapon at the very least.

There's some good shit in the chest. Since I was leveling a barb I figure I'll wait until RoS comes out and level a Crusader. They seem tankier and can use some of the same shit.

Stings a bit less because shortly afterwards I got a legendary recipe to drop that I sold on the gold AH for 150 mil, so at least I don't have to worry about gold going into RoS.

I'm seriously considering selling all of my high end gear on the gold AH. I bet I could get several hundred million for my wizard's shit. I sold his gloves for 25 million already, and the bracers are listed for 75 mil, might have to come down a bit on that to move them. Those are just the pieces I've upgraded since loot 2.0 came out. Wand and source would probably go for about 100 mil each.

Then I could just budget shit out for RoS and play on lower difficulties until I grind enough gear to play on higher. All of my shit is gonna be obsolete anyway.

The only things that could possibly (but not really) retain any relevance would be my gear with 9-10 Arcane Power on Crit... cause those assholes nerfed it going forward to max out at 4.
