Killed Leoric on Hard (lvl 19). Funny, I was regenerating my health faster than he could damage me. Using some dumb dagger on my Paladin, it looks awful.

Check your D2 nostalgia privilege at the door, Crusader plz :wag

"Completed" (5 piece + Ring of Royal Grandeur) my Marauder's set. Oh man, this set is fun. Just plop a turret out and watch everything go crazy go nuts, chilling in the back while your pets tank shit.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Triumph-1211/hero/54007673

That's 3 classes I've levelled and outfitted in endgame gear this season. Still say seasonal drops are better than regular drops.

Crusader:

Also have I mentioned just how good this shit is now?  I mean I always liked the game (except maybe grinding for lvl 63 items before the big nerf) but reaper of souls put this into some god tier gaming.  I'm seriously enjoying it more than Lord of Destruction at this point.

Totally agreed. It's weird, but I think my favorite class is Crusader now. It's a combination of their end game set (Akkhan's) doing the best job of addressing all the various needs you have (resource management, dps, defense) and *still* offering 3 or so distinct builds (Condemn/Phalanx/Holy Shotgun) capable of clearing T6 rifts and doing grifts.

In contrast, I still love wizard, but there's only one endgame viable build really (Firebirds) and I don't like that kitey style of gameplay.

There are basically 2 different variations on the M6 build. Most people run this:

http://www.diablofans.com/builds/90-ultimate-end-game-m6-detailed-guide-update-25-09

It's a cold/fire sentry build. It's pretty much what I'm shooting for.

Then there's this, which seems tougher to run if not to gear for:

Finally, you need to stack attack speed for your sentries. This video will break it down.

mm, thing of the deep + gruesome feast is a potent combo for blitzing through mob after mob. Normal rifts at T6 are cake, and I've gone up to 25 in greater rifts without any issue. 15 seconds isn't a lot of time, but when you stack up 5 orbs you double your dps, and soul harvest hits for 500 million or so on detonation :rejoice

Act III now. Game is stupidly easy. Never used a potion, never died, never had < 50% of health. The roll move breaks the difficulty.

Are you playing on the highest difficulty setting?

Yeah, PLAY ADVENTURE MODE you nerdlinger. No reason to ever, EVER play story mode again once you've unlocked that sweet ass adventure mode.

Once you're level 70, farm act one bounties on the highest torment you can to get a Ring of Royal Grandeur. Once you've got that, start farming for set pieces in rifts. The Crusader has the absolute best set in the game, Akkhan's.

It bears repeating I guess, but the best way to increase your dps is as follows:

1) Stack crit chance wherever you can. You can get 4.5-6% in the following slots: rings, bracers, helm. You can get 6-10% in the following slots: amulet, gloves, and off-hand (shield, etc). You probably want a minimum of 40% crit chance.
2) Stack crit dmg wherever you can. You can get 25-50% crit dmg on rings and gloves, and 50-100% on amulet. Most importantly, a weapon with a socket and the most expensive emerald you can stuff in there is mandatory. You can get up to 130% crit dmg that way currently. You want as much crit dmg as you can possibly get.
3) Upgrade your gems. There's a massive jump from Marquis to Royal gems- +60 stat to +220. You want 3 sockets in your chest, 2 in your pants, and you want to cram the highest tier gem you can in those.
4) Optimize your build, and take advantage of +elemental damage, which you can get on bracers and amulets, and some other slots if you get a cool legendary. For example, look at my crusader in the link below. She only uses Holy skills to attack with- Zeal and Condemn with specific runes. So, I've stacked +holy damage on my bracers and amulet.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Triumph-1211/hero/52288809

You'll notice the sheet dps on my Crusader is a bit short of a million, but even that's misleading- the +holy damage really helps boost my dps, plus I'm playing a build where I can have Akkarat's Champion up 100% of the time, giving me another 35% damage boost. Further, I've optimized my build to the point where my normal attacks crit for 30 million+, and when I proc one of my legendary gems (more on those below) I can crit for anywhere between 70-90 million. I clear T6 rifts in less than 4 minutes, and I never die because I've got Akkarat's Champion up constantly- I'm immune to control impairing effects other than Waller, I get 150% armor constantly, and my passive Law skill gives me +140 all resist. If I find myself standing in puddles of poison or arcane beams, I just pop my active Law and for 10 seconds I get an additional +490 all resist.

As for runewords, legendary gems are basically the D3 alternate version. You get those for running greater rifts- you'll get greater rift keystones for beating regular rift guardians on Torment or higher. Keep at it and they'll drop eventually. You can see 3 legendary gems in my rings and amulet sockets. They have one cool effect you get just for socketing them, and then another that unlocks as you level them up once you hit level 25.

lol @ blues being useless- at the highest levels of play, YELLOWS are useless. Legendary and set items only. My crusader above is a good example.

Anyway, hope this helped.

It's actually 56% cooldown- the Leoric's Helm almost doubles the value of whatever gem I have socketed into it. The breakpoint to have Akkarat's Champion active 100% of the time is 56% cooldown, which isn't easy to hit :P

So any beginner advice?  I haven't played a game like this since the Champions Of Norrath games on the PS2.  Not interested in going the brawler route since I tend to go for that kind of class too often, so I guess that leaves the demon hunter, witch doctor, and wizard classes, right?

Yup. Witch Doctor for minion/pet style play, Wiz/DH for generic ranged, just depends on iffen you wanna use magic or bows to smite the unholy.

As I tell people- your first play through, it really doesn't matter. Just pick out skills that you enjoy using, set difficulty to what you're comfortable with, have fun. Game doesn't get to serious end game loot grindy goodness until level 70, if that's the sort of thing you're looking for.

Ok smartass what is the fastest way to level up to LVL70 in single player beginning from level 1? You have all chars on LVL70 so you would probably know.

Start right away with Torment 1/2/3/4/5/6 in Adventure Mode and do Act I Bounties? I cannot play the Campaign Mode for the 3rd time it's so boring.

Once you've done the campaign there is absolutely no reason why you should be doing the campaign again. Strictly adventure mode, prioritizing the two "bonus" acts that they change every day. Pick an act, do the requirements for each zone then port to the next one. Only head to town once you've cleared each zone (for your reward) or need to sell/salvage.

Do this until you're 70. Then do torment and rifts. Hope you catch one of the bonus xp/gold weekends or events.

Pretty much. I would play on Master as opposed to Torment; basically you need to find the sweet spot where you're still killing shit in a couple hits and not getting one shotted. Socket the highest level diamonds that you can into your armor; socket the highest level ruby you can into your weapon early on, until you have enough crit chance for crit damage to matter, then switch to emerald.

And yes, Adventure mode for now and forever. Farm bounties until you have a bunch of rift keystones; then do rifts. I did bounties until about level 20 or so and then just did rifts until 70 on my seasonal wizard and DH; worked great.

If you have any legendary weapon crafting plans, you can craft some level 70 legendaries and try to get reduced level requirement at the mystic if you have sockets; I think that's probably a waste of time though since you can roll so many different secondaries.
