bought the THQ pack. only had the a couple of the company of heroes games so suddenly I have hella games to play.

How do I get the Ranger DLC for Metro 2033? Is it bought from inside the game? I didn't find it on the steam page for metro itself.

I kind of want to get Quantum Conundrum for $9, but I'm sure it'll be like $4-5 in the winter and I probably won't get to it before then anyhow.

Got Batman Arkham Asylum bringing the total of games bought this sale up to 5.

Contrary to what most people say (that they buy stuff and never play it) I already spent 13.5 hours playing these games and feel like I got my money worth. I don't need to finish anything, just have some fun and get the feel of what the game is about.

Civ 5 = 9 hours
Legend of Grimrock = 4 hours
Binding of Isaac = 30 min
From Dust = not played yet
Batman = not played yet

Got Quantum Conundrum at Sho Nuff's insistence, even though i'm sure it will be $2 before I get to it :lol

I am for some reason playing StarCraft II again on the new MacBook. It looks real nice at 2880 x 1440. I have over 50 Mac games on Steam now, so it's a surprisingly decent platform. Diablo III, StarCraft II, Civ5, The Witcher, lots of Ubi stuff like Splinter Cell and Ass Creed, lots of indie stuff...all the gaming I'll ever need on it for the next few years really.

Well, this is a momentous event: the first day I went to look at the steam daily deals and did not see a game I wanted to buy.  Anyway, I'm done with the Steam sale.

It kind of pissed me off how people picked Age of Empires 3 Complete, which was already on sale, over Kings Bounty Armored Princess.  It would have been $5 if that game won.  The Last Remnant should have won instead of picking games that already had flash sales.  Fuck the voters.  I am glad that it seems like a lot of people bought both Ys titles.  It's nice to support XSEED because the publishers who put out semi-obscure Japanese games have dwindled down to almost nothing.  I hope they continue to bring out Falcom PC titles in the future.

There were a lot of games out there that I withheld pulling the trigger on, such as the Crysis Collection, because you know you can get it for half the asking price of this sale for this winter or next year's steam sale.

Overall I wound up buying or was gifted 71 games on this sale.  My credit card information shows that I spent $228 (not counting games I gifted to people), which comes to about $3.21 per game.  Pretty kick ass.

I'm going to be creating a thread where I go through my backlog.  It will probably end up being a cautionary tale about going nuts on Steam sales.

Thanks to everyone who gifted me games, I really appreciate it.  It was very nice that this community gifted a lot of games to each other.  :bow The Bore :bow2

Only bought the THQ pack. I might buy Witcher 2 and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory later. the latter isn't on sale anymore, but I doubt it's expensive. The Witcher is prolly cheap~ish too. just gotta clobber a few more of these russian monster dogs in metro 2033 first.

Edit: Wait a minute, that might be more expensive.

Yeah, as we reach the end of the sale, most of the dailies are things I've already seen as Flash or Community sales...

I've never played a Splinter Cell game. Do any of them still hold up?

I'd say so.  Chaos Theory is the one to play (3rd game of the series).  Really satisfying stealth and openness to missions.  Splinter Cell 1 is great but its levels aren't as open and its harsher about playing stealthily.  Pandora Tomorrow is even worse in that regard, and I never actually finished the single player of that game.  Double Agent isn't great.

Conviction is different type of game from those four.  It's closer to Batman Arkham action stealth.  It's less about sneaking around and completing a mission and more killing bad guys by surprise.

edit: oh, I should mention that Conviction uses Ubisoft always-on DRM if you hate that.

And tomorrow is the last day, right? The only deal I'm waiting on is Bully, since I've recently found patches to fix the PC version.  But I can wait until the next sale if it doesn't get one.

Final Haul:

Fallout 3 - Game of the Year
Dragon Age: Origins
Pendulo Adventure Pack
   -Runaway 1 - 3
   -Yesterday
RAGE
Age of Empires III: Complete Collection
Bastion
Sword and Sworcery
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
Botanicula
Trine 2
Noitu Love 2 Devolution

Mostly just smaller games this sale. Held off on Anno 2770 and Risen 2 until the next big sale. I tried playing Runaway and found it too bland for my liking. Now I'm playing Yesterday which seems to have at least have a bit more personality to it.
