It's pretty much the most interesting game SE has attempted in the last 15 years and should have been a damn fine game. Kingdom Hearts is AWESOME, but at its heart it's a "for-kids" PG-13 game stuck on PS2-gen visuals. Take Kingdom Hearts and mix it with a dark realistic take on FF meets modern day Tokyo hard R mafia/fantasy/romance story with crazy nice HD visuals and incredible art direction and you have the potential for Nolan Batman of the FF series.

It's a shame the game seems to have been a total disaster, because it really should have been one of the best games this generation.

I think they should never have tried to make it open world. SE really doesn't have experience in that area, so doing so would basically lead to a genre-pushing incredible game or a total disaster and they seem to have lost the bet. I would have been happy to just have the game play out like Kingdom Hearts in semi-open yet linear cities/dungeons broken up by cutscenes and boss fights.

Yup, I feel the same way... game looked pretty awesome but I would've preferred something turn-baesd since I'm not huge on KH combat.

As for me re: Versus, it's really win-win- either the game will come out and be a hot mess, letting me troll people who thought it was going to be good, or it will never come out, one day giving me the opportunity to create a "haha you dummies, your stupid game never came out" troll thread.

The only thing that would surprise me is Versus staying PS3 exclusive.
