You can't ride a bike on the sidewalk, wtf? Unless it's one of those special super-wide ones with a dedicated lane.

I would rather a bicyclist get hit by a bad driver than a pedestrian get hit by a bad cyclist, at least we require licenses for driving a car.

Unsurprising opinions coming from people living in the fattest nation in the world with the highest gasoline consumption per capita by a large margin (New Zealand is pretty bad too but America trumps all)

I am a man without a country. :(

Seriously, fuck nearly everyone in this thread though. You are the worst kinds people. I'm not being hyperbolic to be funny, I really think you are pieces of shit.

I wouldnt say the beginner bike since its a "sports" but in the states it might be different. Plus they cost more then any other bike in that category, I mean you could get a decent big bike for that money.

If you get one be sure to get a 2013 model since those have fuel incetjon and no nasty caruburators  :yuck

Theres also a new Ninja 300 out which has way more bite.

Yeah if you buy one you wont be losing too much cash, I like the new Honda CBR205R though, cheaper, ABS, and better mileage.

Then again Im still stuck to 125 cc

yeah, i wish i'd spent more time at 250cc. the increased weight of a bigger bike is something i'm still adjusting to -- 600 pounds of curb weight means entirely different braking techniques in town (no more lazy stop in the middle of turning). however, when i hop on a cbr250, i feel like i have mad skillz now. so fuckin' nimble!

Yeah Im afraid of losing that nimble feel when Im allowed to upgrade, it will be nice to have some weight for highway driving prob, but in the city where I ride 90% Im afraid of it feeling like being on a tank when Im lane filtering.

Then again 125cc that I have know lacks any punch and it feels almost dangerous not having the power to pull away...

you'll love the cbr250, then. it's so agile. i thought my wife's 250cc scooter was nimble, and then i rode the cbr and am all I KIN GOOOO ANYWHERE. on my current bike, which pulls down almost twice the curb weight, i need parking lot STRATEGIES.

that said, NOTHING beats getting out on a clear twisty stretch of highway and twisting the throttle, hearing the engine instantly roar, and shifting with real DRAMA. that's motherfuckin' LIVING.
