"Well, I guess that's cool, but I don't want that system so I won't be playing it anytime soon" is fine.  "FUCK YOU NINTENDO", "DIE KAMIYA", "PLATINUM HAS STABBED HARDCORE GAMERS IN THE BACK", etc, are extreme neckbeard responses, and at least one of those can be found verbatim on the Bore.

I haven't seen any posts like that on the bore. :( But I agree that is very immature.

Who am I kidding? I may end up getting a Wii U if those bastards at Square Enix make DQXI for it. But I still stand by my two years bet with Andrex!

I BET YOU AN AVATAR, ANDREX. BOOKMARK THAT POST.

Bookmarked hours ago baby.  :-*

DQ11 is probably 3DS but DQ12... hmm, who knows? ;)

PR from Platinum games themselves (Kamiya, Hashimoto, Platinum CEO)

http://platinumgames.com/2012/09/14/bayonetta-2-joins-the-wonderful-101-on-wii-u/

Quote
On September 13, 2012 Bayonetta 2 was announced as an exclusive title under development for the Wii U during the Nintendo Direction presentation held on the same day.
As game developers, we are incredibly excited to be able to announce a new title to all of our fans; however, we are aware that the announcement may have come as a shock to many of you.
As with Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2 is under development and production here at PlatinumGames, and is a true sequel to the acclaimed first game in the series. Bayonetta is one of our most beloved titles, and it played a large part in establishing PlatinumGames as an emerging game studio in the minds of users worldwide. Bayonetta has fans the world over, and we would never dream of alienating them from participating in the future of PlatinumGames.
That being said, the console games market is in a state of upheaval, so establishing a new game franchise requires a considerable amount of will, determination, and love. Bayonetta is a brand that we want to see become stronger, reaching the hands of more and more gamers, so we have continued to consult with SEGA, the previous game’s publisher, on how we can make sure this takes place. Our answer was a new partnership with Nintendo.
Along with their new hardware, Nintendo, as a company, is dedicated to establishing a new future for the games industry, as you can tell by their record of passionate support for gaming. Alongside Nintendo, we hope to grow the Bayonetta brand beyond where it stands today, allowing even more gamers around the world to experience the action of our beloved witch.
As developers, we are working hard to make this a reality.
We hope that you will look forward to what we have in store.
Tatsuya Minami
President & CEO, PlatinumGames Inc.

Quote
I’m Yusuke Hashimoto, director of Bayonetta 2. It has been three years since Bayonetta, a title I was also a part of… I’m incredibly happy to be able to announce that we are working on a sequel. Alongside Bayonetta’s creator, Hideki Kamiya, I’m working on everything from creating a compelling world to character designs (I will be designing the enemies again), and everyone on our talented team is united around the core of Bayonetta, Climax Action, in an effort push the series forward. For empowering our heroine with incredible new action to introducing new characters (which you may have noticed in the teaser trailer), Bayonetta will further expand on the mythology of the Trinity of Realities – Inferno, Paradiso, and our human world. I can’t wait to take the journey with you.
Yusuke Hashimoto
Director, Bayonetta 2

Quote
After Bayonetta was released, I was coming back on the bullet train with Yusuke Hashimoto, pondering various ideas for sequels or spin-offs to Bayonetta over a beer. I never thought we’d actually get to announce a sequel to her story, so I am absolutely over the moon.
Even though there has been a bit of a gap since the release of the last game, but I still got lots of request for a sequel from gamers. We were secretly making one the entire time. While I am not the director of this game, I am still supervising the world, story, characters, etc. in close coordination with Hashimoto, and I have been from the very beginning. You have nothing to work about on that end.
And of course, plenty of members from the first Bayonetta are on-board and working hard under the direction of Hashimoto, so I look forward to work every day, coming in and seeing all the progress they have made on the game. With new hardware, we look forward to expanding on the Climax Action of Bayonetta, so sit tight and get ready!
Hideki Kamiya
Supervisor, Bayonetta 2
Director, Bayonetta

and for the people somehow hoping a sigma style port job check out the red bold: Nintendo is willing to help grow the brand so unless it bombs spectacularly and Nintendo eventually drops it, sounds like it won't be going anywhere else

Plus the bold in Kamiya's post is pretty interesting also

I think this may be a good sign. Nintendo may actually be into targeting the core with games I want. Now I just hope NoA actually releases them.

Quote
I dunno Andrex, Ninthings pissed on games like Bayonetta when it didnt come to the Wii. To turn around and celebrate it now seems strange and hypocritical.

Quote
You guys dont remember the cries of "put it on the Wii if you want to survive" and the inevitable "let it bomb, fuck them!" afterwards for smallish games? I'm not talking Bayonetta specifically, but games in that category of lower budget/from smaller studios.

Really hope Platinum leaches enough from Nintendo to make themselves sustainable long term

Yeah, the outrage about this in general is pretty strange. Everywhere else people are posting stuff like "WHY DOESN'T NINTENDO DO ANYTHING GOOD FOR GAMERS WITH THEIR MOUNTAIN OF MONEY". Well here it is, they did it. This game was CANCELLED. Never coming out. So Nintendo pays money to finish development, and publish it themselves.

I'm glad as shit that Nintendo is throwing money at Platinum Games, who deserve far greater success then they've so far had, and they might not get it on the Wii U, but at least they won't go broke either.

I don't think there is anything strange about this, this would happen with any high profile game.Imagine GTA 5 going XY exclusive, raaaage
Besides majority will never be aware of behind the curtains games politics.

I don't blame Platinum, they created absolutely brilliant action game and they deserve nothing but utter respect.I don't really blame Nintendo---outside the fact that Bayo2 will probably never appear anywhere else and possibly some touch gimmick Bayo2 infestation

Gaming industry(MS,Sony,Sega,etc) on the other hand,what a bunch of useless O2 wasting lowlifes(Sega gets a big +++ for Bayo1).
Nintendo(the ones that infested the world with motion control casual garbage) are the ones that resurrected a sequel to one of the most brilliant action, hardcore games ever---how ironic
Big bow to Nintendo :bow2
I know they are doing it for their own selfish reasons, but still :bow2

I'm happy that Bayo 2 is made but I'm not gonna lie,I would be like billion times more happier if Bayo2 was PS360/WiiU/PC/etc because people that made Bayonetta absolutely deserve that. But hey that's life, tomorrow is a new day...

I wonder if Bayo1 will get ported, that would be smart(if Nintendo is serious about franchise)--that would prepare people like Andrex for the beauty called Bayonetta 2(yes,I have faith in Platinum)

Hehe, yeah, I didn't mean strange as in "unusual", more like "bafflingly irrational". Oscar's examples are good, and another prime one is the Monsterhunter to 3DS/Wii thing. Sony fanboys who had never cared about/played Monster Hunter were outraged, and nintards who had never cared about/played Monster Hunter ('sup Andrex) were gloating.

???

After the Wii, I have no fucking clue why anyone who doesn't either a. have kids, b. have a lot of money and likes SPENDING that money (dcharlie, prole), or c. like Nintendo games remotely want a Wii U at this point.

Maybe Nintendo will turn it around, but I think for the most part, most people who were burned on Wii are going step back, examine the scene, and MAYBE pick one up in five years time for 50 dollars at gamestop, and this game too, for 2 dollars after it bombs.

Zelda? Haha. If Skyward Sword is the direction they're going to take Zelda, Zelda is dead. Then what else you got? Metroid? lol. Metroid keeps bombing, the last Metroid was a total failure. So you've got what? We'll just have to see, but if it's anything like the first year of 3ds we are in for regurgitated, cheap, creatively bankrupt games.

On what perceivable level, would ANYONE with sense, aside from people who like, just REALLY, REALLY like Mario platformers and the occasional odd game like Kamiya's new game, buy a Wii U? I'd get one if I had kids though!

Experiments idea that people are going to line up to buy Wii U like they did with Wii is laughable.

I never said that there will be lines like the Wii.  I'm saying there will be lines when this thing comes out, which there will be.  Even at $500-600, the PS3 had lines.  I doubt Nintendo or anyone else is going to enjoy the success the first 2 1/2 years of the Wii did for this upcoming generation.  Still doesn't mean there won't be people waiting to get the machine.

Also typical Bore behavior is to bitch about consoles or handhelds they're going to buy anyway.  I made a pretty safe assumption that a lot of people bitching about Bayonetta 2 on Wii U are going to get the Wii U down the road.

EDIT: Wait, just read that Bayonetta brand comment. Damn. So Bayonetta in Smash Bros.? So Nintendoes what Sega won't?

As I said on GAF, it's likely as Japanese developers have trouble adjusting to further development Nintendo will swoop in and buy them (Monolith) or make very ironclad arrangements (Tecmo, Platinum.) Nintendo will probably be the saviors of the Japanese gaming industry, at least as long as they themselves survive (which I'm not that worried about.)

Oscar's examples are good, and another prime one is the Monsterhunter to 3DS/Wii thing. Sony fanboys who had never cared about/played Monster Hunter were outraged, and nintards who had never cared about/played Monster Hunter ('sup Andrex) were gloating.

For the record, I don't remember gloating about MH until after I had played it.

DQ9 I might have been pretty gloaty over, though.

On what perceivable level, would ANYONE with sense, aside from people who like, just REALLY, REALLY like Mario platformers and the occasional odd game like Kamiya's new game, buy a Wii U? I'd get one if I had kids though!

Catching up on all these butt-hurt responses to the news has been almost as good as the news itself. For some reason I thought this place would be above this sort of thing but that just seems to make it funnier to me for some reason.
