Probably already mentioned but if you register with that shift thing on the main menu, you get an extra golden key.

WTF is Shift? I tried google but nothing explains it.

So, am I just a real girly man gamer, or is this game pretty challenging solo? I didn't play the first a ton (think I played to level 12 or something), but I don't really remember dying in that game outside of a couple of excursions to areas that were clearly too high level. But this one? I'm dying a ton, and I'm only to the mission where you have to kill the psycho riding the bullymong.

I was kvetching to Cruncheon - I think the balance is totally fucked up on single player. I was level 12 and doing a level 8 mission (Assassinate the Assassins) and died about a dozen times from the Pyro Nomads... Like you, I don't think I'm COMPLETELY terrible at games, but I have this feeling they just kinda threw their hands up and shrugged when asked to balance the single player game.

re: balance

i dont think its too bad. they evened it out by letting you move during Last Stand, and it should be pretty easy to get Second Winds (since theres so many enemies), being stronger.

It doesn't do anything right now. It's supposed to eventually be like the rockstar social club thing. You just go into the menu for it in game and then register. You then confirm it via your email and it links your xbox/ps3/steam account to your shift account. When you go back in the game it says you have a new golden key. Right now it does nothing functionally in the game, except give you the golden key and register and link your account to whatever this service eventually becomes.

If the probability of getting a glitch, error, bug, or any other negative thing is more than 0, Eel will definitely get it. I do feel for you, man, seriously.

So far I haven't seen any bugged quests, fortunately, and I've been doing just about all the sidequests I come across.

if you're dying a lot that early on then yes you are just a girly man gamer, although i just got to the part where you infiltrate the raider camp to save some dude and i died 3 times in the bossfight there, so yes it does get challenging solo, but i didn't have a problem that early on

Sounds good since the first part of the game has a bunch of pistols. I created a character for my son, but it's the same character as mine and he doesn't switch it and plays my game. So I figure if I play as someone that looks different he will switch it to his guy.

Dying is pretty normal for this game. It's not like you failed for dying. You are either underleveld, your loot sucks, or you're just getting swarmed. That's why they have last stand / second wind.

At most you lose a few bucks... big whoop.

When I play (with 1 partner), I just run in like I dont give a fuck.

Why can't you finish it?

Just join someone else's game that's doing it and you'll get credit for any objectives you do.

that did it, thanks

i had to backtrack a bit to the part before you get to sanctuary, and got grouped up with a bunch of weapon/cash/ammo hogs, but now i can move on

Yeah they seem to have gotten away with weapon specifics. They even got rid of Proficiency.

I'm fine with this, but it's weird to stick a pistol upgrade In the zerker tech tree. Especially for pistols and not shotguns

Viz and I hit another bugged quest yesterday, had to quit out of the game to get it to reset. Treesong and I played for a while, didn't hit any bugs.

I am gonna make a new character and take it through the opening bits, then reserve it, if anyone else wants to start fresh and play through the whole game co-op (not at once, just keep a character on reserve for that purpose) let me know.
