Destroyed this game with two friends in a single sitting on Veteran this Thursday. I think my favorite campaign was Chris'. Earlier in this thread I was in defense of this game, but after finishing it I can see where the criticisms come from. I don't think the severity of the reactions was appropriate (when is it ever on the internet?) but it does have a few unfortunate flaws.
Resident Evil 6 has some truly excellent shooting and movement mechanics (imo) once you've mastered the duck, dodge roll, shooting from your back, etc. the game affords you agility that I sorely missed in the previous RE games (but still very much enjoyed them without). However, the only campaign that seems designed around the shooting and only the shooting was Chris'. The other parts of the game try some crazy experiments with gameplay. which appear to be attempts at pleasing the "long-time" fan of RE. These sections came off as completely out of place, ill-paced and not nearly as polished as the shooting. Forced stealth? You got it. Obtuse boss puzzles? Yep. Aimless wandering in search of a key item? Bingo!
On top of that, the game feels way too long. The story cinematics, while gorgeous as always, provide absolutely no exposition and are instead filled to the brim with more cheesy one-liners than you can shake a giraffe at. TL;DR, I enjoyed playing through RE6 but unlike 4 or 5, I have absolutely zero desire to ever play it again.
