I care. First game was great. Music in the first cg trailer was good, so I'm sure that and art design will continue to be great.

First game was great.

Well, I know to now ignore everything you say from now on. Thanks.
What was wrong with it other then the story, pacing, and the fact that it was a GoW clone?

The twist ending was terribly stupid and came out of nowhere. I guess the dlc made it make sense, but thats not in the game I have. Still I liked it. I don't care about Castlevannia and this was a fun GoW clone that was more enjoyable then GoW. Fun gameplay, outstanding graphics with beautiful environments. The only real problem was that it was terribly paced, but eh I played it over a long period time so I never felt like I got bogged down by it's length.

Did you play the PS3 version. Sure it had frame drops here and there, but nothing that bad. People claimed the game had frame rate problems, but I don't really remember any real problems.

Either way hopefully the sequel has no problems what so ever.

No. I don't care if an action game has a bad story. Zone of the Enders 2 has a terrible one as well. Still a great game. Pacing did'nt bother me, because the game was still fun and filled with at least pretty visuals. And well being a GoW clone and not a real Castlevannia dosent mean much to me since I don't know or care what a real Castlevannia is. Game might as well be a new ip. Regardless, I still know that the developers were aiming for GoW and well I think they did better since I dislike GoW anyway.

It's a terrible amalgam of terrible hp sink enemies, shitty shadow of the colossus-esque boss fights, bad auto platforming and to top off this shit sandwich is the very nutty creamy green apple splatter smoothie of sub 20fps framerate.

Well I just think the hp of the enemies played into using the games light and dark magic a lot, which to me was a nice addition to combat. It made me try and avoid as much as I could because I needed as much dark magic as possible. It added some tension to combat. Maybe that is just me dealing with a crappy thing, but I enjoyed it. I also think the game had enough moves to deal it, so I never say it as a problem.

While I can SOTC rip-off enemies as a problem. I don't really count them as they were just kind of there. I mean there was no difficulty to them and because of no stamina gauge, they lacked anything coming close to frustrating gameplay ,but I guess also lack of tension and well real player involvement. But to be honest SOTC's gameplay isn't why I like the game. I like it, in spite of the gameplay and because of the spectacle and idea of scaling the colosi. So the SOTC rip-off stuff still have the scale and visual coolness so I see no harm done.

The auto-platforming. Well I see nothing wrong here. It doesn't go to the depths of Enslaved and still feels like an actual game really. If anything I would complain about is the strange jumping. Either way I enjoyed it, if only because the enviorments are great looking, but honestly, call me crazy but I thought they did a good job with using the powers you gained over the course of the game and mixing them into the platforming. I remember the last level being extremely good with it's kind of platforming puzzles.

Either way, it was a good base game imo and I think it can only go up.

The game was so fucking bad.  I suffer through a lot of mediocre/bad games that I sink time into just to see them through to the end, but even I bailed at Drac's castle.  Game was long, the combat sucked, the camera sucked, the framerate sucked, the platforming sucked. tedious, tedious, tedious.  One of the worst games I've played in recent years and I love GoW and generic shallow beat-em-ups.

I mean I'm still playing Alan Wake even though it's FFXIII's twin brother of corridor running no-gameplay boredom.  But at least that's got some ok things going for it and very little obnoxiously terrible.  LoS was extremely in your face awful.  Fuck that game.

A real castlevania aka a good game, whether it be a 2D sigavania or a classicvania is the only good base...I am sorry mercury stream talents, meaning the lack thereof peaked with Jericho. :teehee

I still have yet to play it... but seriously why couldn't Konami contract From to make a 3D Castlevania? That would pretty much be a match made in heaven.

i don't even care that much or think it's violating anything, unless you're a person who has paid close attention to Keighly's entire career and considered him a legitimate gaming journalist.  His response should just be "you all spend too much time on the internet, go take a walk"

How gaf liked this game is beyond my understanding.

Enchanted by that Kojima Productions credit--sorry, I meant Kojipro.

I remember when people claimed it was 24 fps to be cinematic, despite the fact that it was uncapped and smoothed out in the rare empty scene.  Lords of Shadow 2 is coming to PC, and it should at least be smoothed out on consoles too.  Then again, the 3DS Castlevania by these guys has that telltale 'cinematic' frame rate.

It was a very nice looking games, barring performance.
