So I'm loading up the PSP with PSX games to play during my vacation and it JUST SO HAPPENS that I have the fan translated version of this sucker hooked up and ready to go. The real question is: Is this actually a decent game or is it pure Kojima wank?

Also: Are there any PSP games that have come out since P3P that I should pay attention to? I am NOT playing any Persona/SMT games for a while tho.

Have you played Snatcher? If so, Policenauts is more of that, but not as good. If you haven't, it's a stingy adventure game, with occasional lightgun-esque sequences. The story is Kojima bonkers starring the cast of Lethal Weapon (2, specifically). I like it. I like Kojima games. It's a curse.

If you want some import musou, the port-down of Warrors Orochi 3 is kinda OK I guess.

I was all hyped up to finally play Snatcher, but quit at the first bomb sequence part. Ruined the game.

It is pretty much Kojima wank ripping off Lethal Weapon (in spaaaaaace) but it's at least worth playing because the fan-translation has quite a few semi-funny lines in it.

It's a good visual novel or whatever. I liked Snatcher as a kid and Policenauts was more of the same, if not a little stronger thematically.

the opening scene takes place at the main characters desk, and you get the option to click around on items and hear descriptions/learn backstory. i spent an hour clicking on stuff and i dont think i even heard everything. never made it past that screen.

Policenauts was a fun ride, but you have to 1) like adventure games [point and click especially] and 2) like Kojima to be into it.

The final shootout is just crazy, especially on the PSP-1000's. Having to mash L/R1 to auto-lock-on while hammering square/fire to survive.

Totally worth it, though. If for nothing other than Jonathan touching boobs and the women's comments.

i picked this up because someone mentioned it off handedly. it's like a jr Yakuza. I loved it.

Growlanser IV is pretty awesome, battle engine is cool and slightly reminiscent of infiniti engine games... also Half Minute Hero if you haven't played it yet.

I gave Policenauts the old college try about 2 years ago ... I should have just gone back to college.

It's boring Kojima adventure wank, talking talking talking talking. As they say in Lethal Weapon 2, you're getting too old for this shit.
