It was terrible.

I actually read somewhere that the aspirationall classes only drink wine.

European Union regulations allow for more than 50 different flavourings, additives, preservatives and agents to be added to wine. Only sulphites, which are used as preservatives and have a possible causal link to asthma, have to be listed on labels.
Among the additives which can be added without listing are clay, acid, artificial yeasts, enzymes, sugar, gelatin, and charcoal. Eggs and a milk protein called casein can also be used, while another permitted additive is the fish bladder extract, isinglass.
Additives are added to many of the most popular brands. The Australian winemaker Hardys adds yeast to its merlot and also uses egg, milk and gelatin to 'fine' the wine – making it less cloudy. Jacob's Creek uses tartaric and ascorbic acid in its chardonnay, along with clay, enzymes and milk powder to fine the wine. Monsanto/Blossom Hill sometimes adds tartaric acids, GM enzymes and tannins to the grape juice. It also uses yeast nutrients and malolactic bacteria during fermentation of its standard red wine.

It's a French pale ale. They're similar to saisons, which I love, but I've never had a good biere de garde.

How does everyone feel about Sweetwater?

I've had most of their brews but never thought they stood out much, but I had a 420 IPA last night for the first time and really enjoyed it.  IPAs can be very hit or miss but this was a pretty good one.
