Holy shit.

I think it's helpful to know if coming into it fresh that from my experience and what I've seen of others much of these longer hours spent with the game comes from just enjoying what it offers, since there's no real grinding for things as XP comes predominantly from main quests you'll be playing anyway and a fraction from side quests, so leveling up as necessary will mostly occur in the natural course of a playthrough.

It's probably possible to complete the base game in a shorter timeline as some have above, though the DLC included in the complete edition adds to it as well.

I'd agree with Lager that it's worthwhile to just play it as you want. (As a side note I much prefer the Polish VAs but I realize it's not for everyone since it adds an extra cognitive load one mightn't want for a game, also some have grown familiar with the English VAs).

I really did evverrrything though, I kinda got lost in the world. Maxed out all armours, all gwent cards, almost found all POI but kind of gave up around d the sea ones around Skellege, they were just loot I didn't need. Did all the Villa stuff in the DLC. Got every recipe etc...

Only reason I didn't get a Platinum is because I only played on 2nd hardest difficulty and aslo one trophy is hard to get once you leave starting area. Most of the shit I did was just to fuck around in the world.

That's what I plan to do this time. Take my time and don't move on to the next map until all POI are done or I have to.

I think I put in around 110+ on my initial playthrough, no DLC, and I didn't do EVERYTHING but I did a whole lot.

I finished like 99% of everything (Bandit Camps, Monster Lairs, Abandoned Areas etc.) in White Orchard, Velen/Novigrad not sure about Kaer Morhen. I probably finished about 10% of Skellige and I barely started Toussant.

I need to do another run through blood and wine one of these days :rejoice

I only did one of the branching paths when it came out and never got round to doing the other one  :duh

And from the looks of it I did the lesser path  :fbm

Curious to see where they'll implement ray tracing.
Reflections are probably gonna be really limited, there's a handful of tiny windows in the game, maybe a few puddles? Some pieces of really shiny metal armor at best? So my guess is more in the realm of ambient occlusion and GI/bounce light.

So a better version of this:

Also would be cool to get DLSS support.

DLSS would be huge for it. But if anything, it looking "pre-downgrade" would be the final/good goal to focus on.

Isnt that an entirely different lightning engine?

GI and shadows are probably on the list. Witcher 3 isn't a very shiny game, but the water looks a little dated now, so RT reflections can definitely help there.

This is a S-tier upgrade for consoles. The god awful draw distance, muddy textures, 1 min plus load times, and bad framerate? Gone, at least on performance mode. If you have VRR, it's essentially flawless (still hitches when the game auto saves but whatevs). It is like a 2 second load from one fast travel point to another, at least in White Orchard. I switched to default camera on horseback but I like the new close camera for exploration. In combat however will be a matter of taste when fighting large groups. Prepare to be hit by attacks off screen a lot.

I consider the ray tracing mode on PS5 unplayable tbh. It doesn't just dip below 30 fps but feels so unbelievably slow and stuttery on top of it. It's like playing in molasses. Looks amazing though. I was in a forest at night during a thunderstorm, switched to RT and the atmosphere was on another level.
