I googled Nyla Rose after the actor comment posted here, apparently the internet is mad that JR misgendered her because after winning the title he called her the King of the Mountain of the women's division. JR says a lot of questionable shit, but come on. That's a highly common phrase and Queen of the Mountain is almost never used even in women's sports.

Maybe that’s because Tony has been busy shutting down shit like Nightmare Collective and REeeho. He’s been too busy cleaning up the mess from the mud show gang and he’s just getting to fixing the PPV now.

My point was more what's the fucking point of having such long gaps between PPVs when you're just going to scramble and put most of the show together 2-3 weeks beforehand anyway?

$50 per show really seems like a lot nowadays. That's probably why.

I don't disagree. I think AEW still has pacing problems, so their long term planning is also affected by their inability to Pace this stuff.

I'm 100% convinced Moxley views AEW as his part time job and NJ as his main promotion. The difference in his performance and enthusiasm is crazy. It's like the difference between the start of the Shield run and his last 2 years in WWE. He's sleepwalking on Wednesdays.

Also, Kenta/Naito is probably the worst NJ main event that didn't involve Jay White that I've seen in years. What a fucking slog.

I think Mox knows when he can coast and when he can't. That's why he let his look go to shit over the years in WWE, he knew he didn't have to workout to get pushed and get paid. Same for AEW, he knows he'll be cheered just for showing his face and maybe saying something into the mic so why bother working hard?

IMO, I actually the Konnan/Disco Inferno podcast. They talk about modern stuff, AAA (interesting to hear what Konnan has to do being the main booker, trying to make a show work), and other lucha stuff. And its a look at late 90s Nitro.

Best match was Lee/Dijak. Everything else kinda felt like Too Much. Too many pin attempts and over the top moves in too long matches with too many fuckery bits and interruptions and ref distractions. Good moments in the other matches but also they all felt overbooked except for Balor/Gargano which was stock standard and kinda boring.

It was a pretty good show though. Not the best Takeover of all time or even top 5 but still a solid show that out does any other company's PPV.

For as much as I like Adam Cole, I feel like his NXT main event run has been way too, for lack of a better term, "ROH-y"

The woman's title match was solid but not great, but at least they've figured out that booking Rhea as "face in peril" doesn't really work and she should just be killdozer'ing her competition, who should either try to outslug her (Bianca) or cheat (everyone else probably)

Lee/DD was great but absent a DD heel turn I feel that's over with, so not sure where they go with either guy now

I guess we're gonna get Balor/Cole on the mania takeover? Finn Balor matches are like empty carbs

It's also always conveniently ignored that prior to Raw and Nitro, ratings weren't particularly important and WCW traditionally had always had higher ratings on their weekend shows than WWF. There's really never ever been a discussion about ratings on pre-Monday Night Wars shows, even from WCW guys.

Well, I mean, Jim Cornette discusses at least 3 times per podcast that he used to be on shows on Saturday mornings at 2am in the 80s that got 10x as many viewers as today’s AEW Dynamite episodes.

Caught up on Corn Daddy. I’m surprised he’s dropping NXT for Raw. He never seemed as big as everyone else on NXT, but he seems to have really rapidly cooled on it over the past month.

Anyway, if he’s only covering Raw and AEW now, his AEW reviews are going to start sounding significantly more positive. Unless, you know, Jim happens to be irrationally insane.

Also we should have a WrassleBore meetup at this. We can have a classic Backstage Betty contest like teen girls used to in the 70s, and see who can groupie it up best and bed the most old wrestlers. They’re probably all CTE’d so it probably won’t be much more difficult than it is for you guys at the playground.
