Was watching old WWE Draft episodes of Raw on the Network last week (don't ask) and the 2009 episode, where he'd just gotten back from an injury had the crowd going nuts for him. One day he'll return, maybe after the next GotG. Just keep him away from the title. Hell, throw him in a match with HHH at WM.

Everything I've seen of those two without kayfabe happening has felt like she's 100000% into him and he's just tolerating it. He's a smooth motherfucker, no doubt. Incredibly likable guy. But it doesn't really seem reciprocated at the same level

going by yknow, me watching how they talk to other people. which is a GREAT barometer of how their relationship is $:-\$

Goldberg's promo last night was pretty darn good. The video game stuff was hokey but he sold the storyline well and delivered the catchphrase perfectly.

Yeah, I don't get that. Usos were booked the same way. Jumping and 2 on 1-ing dudes and such yet they were the good guys. Hell it became more obvious when they became heels. Dudes just changed ring gear to hoodies and their song to something with a harder beat without changing their personalities at all and were perfect heels. Is it too much to hope for a double turn from this feud? A good guy foreigner would be a pleasant change for once.

Speaking of pals from afar, Nikita Koloff on the other hand? Koloff was a fucking incredible wrassler. Holy shit, every single little move he did he had his own spin on it, so much snap to every single physical movement. The man was incredible.

I was genuinely stunned and pissed at how bad Raw was last night. Goldberg returning was going to have a lot of eyes on the product that might night have watched for a long time, so you'd think you wouldn't put on a dreadfully dull and boring show, then save Goldberg for the end of 3 hours when the crowd is dead and a significant chunk of the audience tunes out every week. The last time I was that pissy with a WWE show was the night after Survivor Series 2014 when not only did Sting not show up on Raw, but they played hype videos for him all during the show in the arena during commercial breaks. No way anyone watching that show that hasn't watched in years is going to want to watch it next week.

Then I found out D-Von Dudley was running the show last night and it all made sense.

RAW is too long. 3 hours is too much fuckin' show to fill, even with the roster split and RAW being it's own universe... hell, ESPECIALLY with the roster split, because now boring people are getting too much screen time.

KO, Jericho, and Rollins were solid last night, but the main draws of your promotion had BETTER be at least solid. Other than that, it was a bunch of forgettable crap and a good Goldberg promo. Sucks this is going to be a one off, because he is SO MUCH better on the mic now than when he was actually a top guy.

Breh, that Rollins promo was as bad and cringy as all the shit people said about Roman. Actually, it was worse, because Roman's delivery of garbage lines were better than Rollins' delivery of lines that weren't even as bad.

The beginning of a 3 hour show built around the return of Goldberg featured the least defined character in pro wrestling today leading a chant of "sparkle crotch" towards 46 year old Chris Jericho.

Stick to SD and Talking Smack, really the best recommendation to get your current promo fix in a good way.

Smackdown and TS are turning into "Ah, what they could have been" - fortunately it's pulling pretty decent views.

SD is much better just because it's shorter and becomes a tighter show just because of that. There's no time for long segments, shit has to keep moving. They're even doing a PIP thing where the show still goes on while the commercials play. It's still imperfect but it's a real improvement.

Losing an hour and having no continuity with Main Event is a wonderful thing. I remember people thinking SD got the short end of the stick, little did they know how much better a show away from the "flagship" could be.

Talking Smack is really such a great show. It has it's flubs here and there but that's because the guys and gals are talking from the heart and not a script. You'd hope lessons from that would be taken out into the wider product but it doesn't seem to be the case.

EDIT: I guess that's not correct. You can see some changes on the shows but it's taking time.

I've been saying that shit the whole time. Especially the first 2 months or so of the split. SD would start and end with his music, he was directly involved in all the main angles, he had more TV time on a 2 hour show than Steph/Mick did on the 3 hour "talking show", then he got a 20 minute wrap up show where he's an utter dick to all of the talent where, at best, they can make him upset but ultimately can't get anything over on him because he can't get in the ring.

Doesn't that all sound familiar? Now, while his screen time is less, he's still involved in most of the main stories and fucks with talent at his whim because he's the GM and no one is allowed to touch him. He's written exactly the same as Stephanie, but as a face. And then he goes on TS and spends the whole time embarrassing people who come on the show to a degree far worse than Stephanie ever has, and shitting on the writing of both shows and that he has to ride out his contract in the first place.
