I watched the "special edition" NXT from Maryland from a couple weeks back and I'm going to go out on a limb:
Kushida has absolutely no future in WWE, even NXT and 205 Live, beyond "guy we put on TV once in a while to have a solid match and talk about how big of a star he was on the indies/Japan". His signing had no hype to begin with, he signed with the company at the end of January and has been on TV like 3-4 times, against low, low card guys and even a 205 midcarder. He doesn't have the presence or charisma to stand out like Nakamura, the history hype and style of KENTA that made him stand out (even if that went to shit for multiple reasons not all of which were KENTA's fault), and there are 15 other guys all set to debut in NXT at the same time that are going to leap frog him immediately. They're just now working in teams and talent they've had on the backburner for 2+ years. And now they're about to debut 8 "names" all at once, they still have Riddle's rise, Keith Lee/Dijakovic not doing shit, former NXT talent are returning....Kushida is going to do absolutely nothing of note in WWE. He signed at the worst possible time.
