In real life, I probably couldn't name a peer who doesn't make lewd sex jokes about stories like that, men and women included.  I bet most of us know more peers who would make those kinda of jokes than people who would be like seriously upset at the story to the point of not letting others even joke about it.   On gaf, it's taken as symbolic of the white male power structure and is taken as directly oppressing gay overweight non-white transexual women everywhere.   

Mod rules on GAF seem more geared towards wish fulfillment of creating the ideal, perfectly balanced society.  of course, "balance" can be achieved with brute force by simply nullifying absolutely everything.

As a diagnosed schizophrenic I laugh at that shit, however smoking weed is terrible for existing schizophrenics. Also if you have latent schizophrenia smoking weed can bring the condition to light. There have been a lot of studies about this shit but nothing is written in stone.

that sucks man... my friend got his schizo going hardcore after pulling tons of sleepless shifts on the job. He's fine, he controls it, but you can tell when the noises/etc are bugging him. Smoking weed actually helps even him out a bit now. This probably depends heavily on the person/symptoms though.

I've dealt with this situation a couple times, complete with really weird sudden paranoia then wondering if they should call 911.  Dealing with this even once is too many times :'(

We were smoking with a random Canadian friend-of-a-friend and listening to some fucked up noise music (Wolf Eyes) and nobody was really talking.  My friends and I were close enough that we were used to these comfortable silences while smoking and listening to weird music.  The Canadian however, didn't get the memo.  After a few minutes, we noticed he was really scared looking and sort of pawing at his chest.  Then he started freaking out for an hour about how he was having a heart attack and that he knew he would never come down from the high and get thrown in jail.  but he emphasized that he still wanted to call 911 anyway for the heart attack because he'd rather be in jail than dead and swore he wouldn't rat us out to the cops

Yeah, my friend is bipolar which majorly fucked him up in his college days, but he says getting into weed (he smokes every day) was the absolute best thing for him.

Last time I smoked weed (a few weeks ago, with aforementioned friend and another friend of mine), I was just laughing hysterically for no reason the whole time and forcing everyone to watch these retro game videos on youtube and just going "whoa!" at each of the games they showed. (like "top 10 Turbografx games" and Chrontendo and shit)

the last time I got high was right after washington passed the vote for legalization. A friend of mine got some brownies as a thank-you from their neighbor for cat-sitting while she was out of town. Problem is, he's reacts very badly to weed (total anxiety breakdown stuff), so it sat in his fridge. Until I ate all three in a heroic attempt at being as carelessly high in public as possible. I mean shit, nothing to worry about, since I can't get arrested for being stoned now. Excellent.

Man, I got sooooooo high about an hour later. I could barely walk. We were sitting in a coffee shop, my mouth completely cottoned, and suddenly they started playing super loud metal. I kind of raise my voice to my friend across the table, aghast at this bizarre music selection. He looks at me completely confused, and says, "Dude, there is no music". Suddenly, I am completely aware of the silence, felt like the air got sucked out of the room.  I was getting strange audio hallucinations and time warps all night. Still felt high the next morning.
