don't like it, don't read their posts. Going that extra mile to block them seems like a sucker move to me. At least from my perspective as the guy Jobber has had on ignore for nearly a decade.

Yeah, clicking an ignore button is an awful lot of work.

Not extra work, an extra mile of thought that could best be used somewhere else. Computer makes some horrible posts but I tend to just...not read them. Putting him on ignore would validate his shittiness IMO.

Computer's posts suck, I don't read them. Hell I don't read most people's posts on GAF to be honest. I scan for posters I like, or the most entertaining posts. If I see a big wall of text I tend to ignore it. Whereas I read everything on The Bore

NeoGAF++ is now live in the Chrome Web Store.

Versions 3.0 and 3.1 were a little bugged with settings after install, but 3.2 should be good. Please report any bugs here as soon as you find them. I'm also taking feature requests.

Super Ignore is turned on by default, but the two extra options (hide quoted posts and hide threads) are not. To toggle these options, go to chrome://extensions and search for NeoGAF++, then click Options.

If you were running NeoGAF Quick Reply, to update to NeoGAF++, go to chrome://extensions, hit the Developer Mode checkbox, and click "Update extensions now."

Still no Firefox extension.

Anyway, just tried it: It hides the OP and hiding threads doesn't seem to work for me. But nice job fixing it for Web 2.0 GAF, Andy.


Anyway: Mumei doesn't seem that bad from the run-ins I've had with them.

Out of all the forums I visit, I've only ignored one person, and it's only because she put me on ignore. It's a sports forum and 99% of the time, she's just trying to anti-jinx her favorite player and I always called her out on it. I made too much sense, and then BAM! So I figured that since she's not reading my post, why read hers?

But it's a waste of time because I still click the "read user's posts" button.  Also, when people quote them, it kinda defeats the whole purpose.

It polls your ignore list every hour. If you've added a bunch of people to your ignore list after installing the extension, it could take that long to hide their threads or quoted posts.

I don't think there's any validation here. I never announce putting people in ignore to begin with, and since July 2012 everyone on that list literally disappeared for me.

@Rufus, regarding the topic of self imposed timeouts: It does make a difference because you get caught up in useless discussions less often. Especially in OT and Gaming. I still lurk in the Community threads that I usually frequent, but it still saves me a lot of time, partly because I'm not waiting for responses.

At least it helped the last time, I've since added some GAFfers on Twitter, plus The Bore, which might help defeat the purpose :-/

When I was still on GAF, my ignore list was pretty much the Domesday Book. There was dude there who was notorious for having a lengthy ignore list and it paled in comparison to mine.

In that case it's not working correctly for me, as I'm still seeing posts quoting them, unless I'm doing something wrong.

From the options, I checked the second option under super ignore. But fwiw, whenever I tick "super ignore" and refresh, it goes back to being unticked. I never thought twice about it because it was always on by default and seemingly functional.

It refreshes its internal version of your ignore list every hour, so could that be the issue?

Hmm, can you do something for me? Can you:

1. Go into the Options page
2. Hit Ctrl+Shift+J
3. Go to the Resources tab
4. Open the Local Storage entry on the left side
5. Click into the line that starts with chrome-extension://...
6. See what's there?
