Boys aren't suddenly going to want to play with Barbie dolls and girls aren't suddenly going to become interested in Matchbox cars.
I had a kitchen and tea set as a kid and i hear that was "unusual" back then - but hey, our eldest has the same thing plus a washing machine and he loves it. Disney wise he'll watch Jungle Junction and Little Einsteins but that's about it - he's more about the ipad and building his Bike Baron levels.
My wife grew up making Gundams and playing with Zoids - so i don't particularly think either of us are going to enforce anything on our kids - they'll try what they like , wear what they like etc.
regarding gay : a couple of extended family members were gay when i was young - one was driven away and one was spurned by his parents but they eventually came round. The attitudes to being gay in the north of england are (or were) pretty much stuck in Old Testament times. Thankfully a lot of people - and especially younger people - don't give a flying shit about peoples sexuality and i look forward to the times when someones sexual preference is none of anyone elses fucking business.
