The thing about Karstark is that it's an embodiment of the North's perpetual lost cause. I said this in spoilers when it happened because as a book reader I knew about the RW, but I definitely think that was when Robb should have bent the knee, but he was too prideful to do so. Robb lost when he beheaded Karstark, but he was kinda forced into that position I think. Karstark practically forced him to do it by egging him on and insulting him. If he let Karstark go, after letting his mother free after committing treason, and now this, he'd be considered weak and would be betrayed FARRRR earlier than the RW.

I actually really like the Stark's, even Sansa (well, book Sansa). They're probably my fave family, but man do their ideals come and bite them in the ass.

Can't wait for show watchers to finally jump on the Jon bandwagon after they fucked up the character in seasons 2 and 3.

I'm really hoping Sansa's character arc will improve and that she'll become totally evil and manipulative at Littlefinger's hands and then connive to get revenge on the Lannisters, but after the last two books I'm honestly not sure Martin's capable of anything cool anymore. I also hope Jaime doesn't get killed, as his is my favorite character arc in the entire series, but eh- history has told me not to get too attached

From what I gathered from that interview, the show is the best thing that could have happened for the book readers. Now, GRRM has no choice but to finish the series instead of sitting with his thumb up his bum because he's afraid the show will catch up to him!

I must say that while I'm glad the scene was done so well, I'm also bummed that it has become such a huge meme and internet "thing." The reaction video has 7 million views, it literally dominated twitter for two days, etc...and all in the process a lot of people are getting spoiled, which I hate to see happen. Hell, some people are purposely spoiling themselves just because this is now A Thing they "must" experience. Personally I'll never understand why people do that; it would be like watching that scene from The Shield S5 first, then deciding "oh hey I should totally watch this show!"

Basically there's gonna be a whole lot of friendly fire spoilers for new viewers/readers. I agree with Contra though, this will probably surpass The Sopranos next season. Shit is going to be crazy...
