Are the Tigers considered a favorite? The local sports show I mainly listen to has a "World Series or failure" view of this season. I don't know shit about baseball but apparently the Tigers added some firepower; seeing the team get annihilated in the World Series (on Sports Center) is getting boring.

A lot of the baseball pundits are picking the Angels to win the AL and play either the Reds or Nationals in the World Series. But then again, no one saw Oakland winning the west last year, so who knows.

The Jays and Tigers are getting picked even more than the Angels, I think. Mostly because the rotations of the first two are superior. I agree. Baseball Prospectus really does not like the Jays, though.

The Upton trade was distinguished mentally-challenged when it was made, but yeah, he is fucking BEASTING. He was playing hurt most of last season and it's obvious now. He's an animal. You're right that if your pitching keeps it up you're set. Going into the season, I thought the rotation was their weak spot.

What's distinguished mentally-challenged is that right now, our offense basically consists of Gattis, J-Up, and a couple other guys (Francisco, Simmons, Johnson) playing at an average pace. Freeman is on the DL, and BJ and Heyward are sucking, and Uggla is who we thought he was.

At some point, BJ and Heyward are going to have to carry the team this season.
