I don't agree with Janet at all on either of these things. Children shouldn't be lumped into some giant gender pool but I don't see the harm in calling a child he or she. If they don't identify with that gender, and they tell you, respect that. But trying to apply this to all children is utopian and unrealistic. As for the first point, most of the general population clearly look a specific gender, and again, it is not realistic to not label people as specific genders. They are words used for description for a reason.
Have no idea why you would assume you're a bigot because you disagree with these things, not all transsexuals agree on every issue.
