Apparently the budget is about $38 million. I don't care, though, because Pitch Black only cost about $23 million and it was/looked great.

I'm unclear about the story. Riddick "won" the universe at the end of the last one, right? Are they just backpedaling away from that furyian, super space army, and dame judi dench ghost business? This is looking more like the first one.

Trailer looks like this one is going back to basics. Which is good. CoR's weird, somewhat fake feeling kinda-Warhammer-40K-but-not-really universe bothered me.

Pretend? Pfff. I know that Pitch Black was simple, cheesy, action (horror) schlock and I enjoyed it for what it is. Riddick looks set to deliver on that yet again. That's all there is to it. Entertainment doesn't need to tickle all my higher brain functions or say something profound to be enjoyable.
