doesnt matter. At all. Due to masterful game design, the plasma cutter is the only good weapon in the game, and you start with it!

Agree, plasma cutter is great for the whole game.

I think in Dead Space 2 the plasma cutter and that thing that lays mines got me through the whole game no problems.

After upgrading the plasma cutter I put some points into the assault rifle and the line gun. The javelin gun is also pretty good, but I don't remember if that was in the first game.

The problem with Dead Space is that the ammo drops are based on your current guns. As you buy more, the enemies drop all types of ammo for each. Except when you REALLY want a certain type of ammo.

So the solution is to stick to one or two guns and maximize the drops. This also lets you upgrade guns much easier.

Plasma Cutter + Line Gun is a good choice.

Since you don't care about achievements (Scenester's mention of Plasma Cutter requires you to beat the game using only it), just pick what guns you want to use and have fun.

Noticed this already, getting loads of ammo for my pulse rifle buy i just sell it.

Im really bad at horror games, very jumpy, i could only play re4 in like 1 hour installments. Same for Condemned.

But that doesn't matter so much when the Plasma Cutter and Line Gun (or whatever the big Y gun that fires a horizontal beam is) are the most "fun" weapons in the series.

I've never been able to get past the first hour of Condemned. The sound design is too consistently creepy.

If turned on all the lights, and played Yakkity Sax on the system music player, I could probably get through it all just fine.

Im not suprised the audio in Condemned is near perfection, the whole game is just great and a real gem.
