i wanted to throw an xbox first time i played that pos series. sc1 came out around the time of mgs2, but the gameplay was more basic than mgs1. busted stealth, no ai, ugly environments; microbots were really up their ass with that one.

Can't blame you. 1 is highly outdated. I take the opinion that anyone who thinks SC is better than MGS, at least the first first SC, is wrong.

Chaos Theory and Pandora Tomorrow are much better, particularly Chaos Theory which is a legit stealth game on par with any MGS not called 4.

Watch:

Add to the multiplayer (spies vs mercs) and you have an inkling on why SC was popular. The problem is, SC1 is the best selling SC, so not many people got to do this.

Xenogears, PDS, and MGS were the best games from '98. Starcraft was one of the few RTS games I actually tolerated though so I'll give it credit! But I always preferred LTTP over OOT.

Just saying, I never met a single Splinter Cell fan I could consider mentally balanced. the MGS fans who responded properly following MGS4 turned in their fan badges and unsubscribed from Kojima's newsletter right after breaking the blu-ray in half.

Claiming to be a MGS fan needs more caveats than wanting to reinstate segregation.

I stopped playing after Chapter 3 as well.

Strangely there was 10 more hours of the game I sat through.
