I'd still point to him as a power metal vocalist, especially considering he's the blueprint for it still (alongside Paul Dickinson obviously). You could argue Freddy Mercury was a power vocalist.

Power vocals require a certain level of skill and tone. The problem is that a lot of less talented singers basically overly exaggerate their vocals to attempt to replicate that sound, and fail.

I fucking love this way more than the thrash posted in this thread. Theoretically I love metal, but a lot of the most popular tends to be thrash, and there are very few times I 'get' thrash.
