You finally found some way to get me to sign up for google plus except I didn't know I was signing up for Google Plus. On Youtube they asked me to change my name. I've declined in the past. This time there was no decline option. So I went with a cute name and all of a sudden it's my google plus account and shit, and they've splintered my youtube account. Shit is gay.

At least i'll finally be able to post reviews on Google Play.

Yep, so I broke down and made a new Gmail account just so I can use Youtube and other stuff without them hassling me about it. Used a fake name as well but Google is really anal about that. You have to make it sound like a real name if it isn't.

Vimeo wouldn't be that bad if it didn't have "free" limits. It actually compresses videos a hell of a lot better than Youtube.

Just use that Google account in one browser and leave your other browsers/devices on your main Google account. Problem solved?

I had my Youtube account - a variation of my current user name here... Youtube gave me the option OP speaks of, I chose the same name I always had, and that's what my Channel is called now. Exactly same as before. I do have an option to use Youtube under my real name, but I'll never do that apart from maybe for personal stuff that I share with only the family.

Yeah, YouTube lets you keep your YT name, although I think Himu's complaining about messing up some part of the process accidentally.

It's a nice, small, simple search engine with privacy in mind. The name is meh but you get over it. I don't use it personally because the results are bad or I end up having to use the Google operator anyways (plus no image search, I think) but it's a... nice option if you're privacy conscious.

I'd look down on someone far less for using DDG than Bing, for instance.

I just logged out of Youtube when I saw that.  Fuck that shit.  I find it annoying how they no longer pretend that they're not keeping tabs on me

Also Google is the only search engine that produces what I want.  Duck Duck Go is pretty decent and Bing is fucking worthless.  If it wasn't for the godly Bing Maps with the Bird's Eye View, I'd never bother going to that shitshow of a website.  Isn't Bing the third or fourth attempt for Microsoft to put up a search engine?  Just give it up.

DDG has the option of anonymously google/bing searching as well as respective image searches for both as well.  just click on the blue arrow thats in the same box as the blue magnifying glass search "enter" button and a list of all your search options will pop up!
