https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/sep/20/fresh-brexit-talks-row-uk-eu-proposals-secret

Quote
Downing Street’s secrecy over its “underwhelming” Brexit proposals has caused a fresh rupture in the negotiations in Brussels.

The row centres on a demand that the EU’s negotiating team treat a long-awaited cache of documents outlining the UK’s latest ideas as “Her Majesty’s government property”.

Whitehall told the European commission team that the three “confidential” papers it had sent on Thursday evening should not be distributed to Brexit delegates representing the EU’s 27 other member states.

Was Brexit thought of by the French and Germans to fuck up the UK extra something fierce?

No, Britain earned the Brexit Darwin Award all by herself.

TBH I keep thinking this is how the Germans finally win too.  Can't fight them on the beaches but can in a referendum.

What the hell is Labour doing. As far as the EU is concerned there is no 'remain' option.

The only option is to leave with a deal or without a deal and then re-apply for EU membership.  :lol

Thomas Cook Group, was Europe's second largest travel company (turnover: 10bn EUR). Europe's largest travel company TUI (Germany) is the winner of this (turnover: 19bn EUR).

What is really scary is that they could have been bailed out by the Gov for 200m but they didn't bother. Absolutely ridiculous. Why spend 200m when you could lose 10bn taxable turnover?

I've seen that point brought up and governments do bail out companies all the time but is it really common sense they should have done that here ?

I think in the longer term it would have been the better idea than just to let it bounce,

the problem is that all the job losses here and loss of taxable revenue will later fuck the economy harder than a bailout to be paid back across x number of months.

21,000 people now suddenly out of work and now will no doubt be going onto welfare until they can find other opportunities,

the issue is quite a lot of these staff will be low skilled workers so finding them a job in the long run with a failing high street will be difficult.

I fucking hate people who use flags like that to state political alignments, it's like those pray for france shit that went on so lame.

I'm hardly shocked the Spanish are going that way though. Although I beg they keep the English over there, as they're the real cunts we don't want here.

Why should Britons retain any rights abroad they themselves intend to deny foreigners in the UK?
