WOAH what an accomplishment! Making better movies then the prequels!

Either way the 1st Star Trek was an enjoyable sci-fi action romp. The 2nd..... I don't think JJ Abrams is bad, but none of his movies really stand out. They really are the definition of ok. Star Trek 09 gets a pass because the previous TNG movies were pretty terrible and a lively and fun Star Trek movie is what the series needed. We got that, but he sure did'nt step up with a real Star Trek movie in the 2nd one. Into Darkness is a whole lot of noise and nothing else.

I bet the new Star Wars movies will be entertaining, but I'm not expecting anything great from JJ.

Truth be told, I'm so uninterested in Star Wars. The universe is basically dead to me.

Because they've assembled an all star cast of filmmakers, JJ brand of Star Trek is more like Star Wars anyways, and it is no longer tied to Licas' so it'll automatically be at the very lleast, decent. More than that, JJ is doing only one movie. If you think Disney is going to flub on quality on their largest acquisation ever, you are probably a dense fuck. Everything from Marvel to their recent Animation Studios outings ooze quality and they are on a high in terms of balancing Creator freedom (Frozen, Guardians of the Galaxy) and doing good ol Disney business (Avengers.)

You don't have to be a special fellow to be excited for the new trilogy.

But it is ironic that the people constantly down on the new trilogy are the biggest spergs I know.

This could be good casting. Really, anything is better than the blandness of the go-to leading men at the moment (the Pines, Evans, Hemsworths, etc). At least Meth Damon's got that off-kilter charm.

The new trilogy can't get much worse than the last, but my expectations are in check.
