He has some bad health problems, not sure about the details.  Might be a way to cope.  If you don't let yourself enjoy things, you won't be as sad to go or afraid of death.

I almost posted the teamliquid thread about that story but figured no one would care. Now it's a 10 page GAF thread lol.

There are a host of other words he could have used to describe how he was going to beat a female opponent. Instead he used one of the words you absolutely should not use. I know US esports teams go through sensitivity training on a variety of issues, I'd imagine Euro teams don't. You can't fuck around with sponsors involved.

As an example, the best NA SC2 player is transgender. Initially there was quite a bit of debate amongst assholes with respect to what to refer to her as (he, she, etc), some people got in trouble, bans were issued, etc. Luckily things have gotten better and no one of consequence disrespects her, but I'd imagine she still has to deal with assholes abusing her on twitter.

It's cool when you're dueling with the mechs or when you're just shooting dudes on foot, it's when they combine the two that it all starts to fall apart a bit.

they could use some more cool shit, like lines that hook titans in the legs and slow them/down them like in Empire Strikes back.

It's cool when you're dueling with the mechs or when you're just shooting dudes on foot, it's when they combine the two that it all starts to fall apart a bit.

Both of them together was fine.

The problem was:

-Small maps
-Small player count (not talking the total population, in round)
-No destruction of things/"parkour bridges"/signs in the way of the mech to allow them into a few more areas for the sake of "LOL PROTECT THE PILOTS"
-Smart gun, Smart gun, Smart gun
-Lack of content to where you've seen everything it did in two rounds or thereabout.

Co-op maybe changes the dynamics,  but there's easily abusable shit like Smartgun and Smoke against most players that aren't "pros."

thisismyusername is right, but I do think it's a good game. Just not a game with good mileage, which is exactly the problem with why the game was forgotten so easily. It was supposed to have some mileage and have people playing it online till the next one. The game failed at doing that.

If they dropped the bots, redid the maps and maybe balanced the abusable shit like nuke + smoke and running on walls while using the smart-gun, I could actually see it finding a place in the shooter market, kinda. It does have a difference with the mechs in the mix from CoD/BF/Halo and the like as far as the sandbox goes.

But Jesus Christ, the beta LITERALLY shows you all you needed to see in the game and making a "floor is hot lava" mode, while different from most FPS modes... isn't enough to get around the fact that the games maps are too damn small to be "fun" in when pilots can get into cubby holes to avoid Titan fire and Titans can't chase the pilots to stop them due to map restrictions.

Dark Souls II is still a great game. I hope the port fixes some of the glitches and bugs in hitbox detection as well as dumb enemy AI.
