Modbot is closing Order threads now. Can't wait for the OT or the defenders to go to the "spoiler" thread in the meantime.

Dat spin.

When does the review embargo break?  :lawd

Apparently it's next Thursday.

It's confirmed now by people uploading on YT it's five hours and most of it is cutscenes and QTE's. It literally has less gameplay than Ryse. The spoiler thread is on fire

I'm loath to use the word but Nib95 really is fucking distinguished mentally-challenged, the guy has a millionaire father yet he wastes his time shilling for shit sony games and consoles. It's blatantly obvious now that the Odour:1886 is a load of guff.

Launch bait that's two years late.

Apparently walking is gameplay in twisted reality land now.

Well, how many copies does elderscrolls sell?

they're now all rallying around the one guy with an order avatar who gave it a glowing review with "12-16 hours of gameplay" to start "an impressions thread for adults", which he's getting cold feet about given that he doesn't want to "be the one to catch fire if people don't like the game in the end".

edit: and there it is: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=992687. a literal PR war.

it's just a shame this guy can't contribute to metacritic.

Another thing about the play through is that it completely ignores collectibles and viewables. It's really jarring the way he completely ignores the button prompts that prop up when there's something to pick up or look at.

5 hours 20 minutes is basically going to be a low difficulty, no frills or exploration, fairly rushed completion.

Actually that's a good chunk of gameplay in Ace Attorney Apollo Justice. And that game's probably a good deal cheaper and just as long as The Order.

I sorta get what Squiddy is saying in a way about new content. But he's got unrealistic expectations. It's not like gaf where you're gonna have two dozen posts telling you how awesome you are in 20 minutes. There's just not that many of us, so a new thread is only gonna get a few replies, and if you make it dumb thread most of the replies are gonna be "You're dumb" because this isn't a hugbox. That's why we have just a few threads that get a lot of traction. In the end, he should just shut up.

The worst part of that thread isn't the disgusting OP but the people rushing in to pat him on the back for his "great" impressions.

"Personally, I think it harkens back to Metal Gear Solid in terms of pacing, to Killzone 2 for its gunplay theatricality, and to Vanquish, for its replayability."

Dude should be getting roasted for that shit. :snoop But it's a lost cause and has been for a long time. Those several thousand post hypefests are the heart of that forum now. Fuck it. :yeshrug

The problem with Squiddy and many GAF gaming/OT posters is that he is more into reactions than conversations. People don't post news stories on GAF to discuss them - they post for reactions, many of which are pretty standard/predictable. You'll have a group of people who get upset when negative stories are posted, you have a group that posts gif reactions, posters who quote gif reactions, drive by trolls/shit posts/etc.

The Bore doesn't really have much of that. Sure we troll and post Coli emotes but most of the active threads here are...people talking and shooting the shit. We don't have many reaction threads about news stories or events. Most of our threads are similar to some of the community threads on GAF: posters actually talking to each other.

Ultimately Squiddy has no interest in discussing anything, he wants reactions - to his links and to his forced personality. Even the worst Bore posters eventually became decent by moving away from shock posts and joining in conversations. Squiddy is incapable of having a normal conversation, all he wants is a spotlight.

If it's really five hours  :lol

I'm so glad everything I've seen of that PoS has turned me off, I'll just continue playing MGS3 HD which manages to be an amazing SP only game that isn't 5 hours. The defense force for The Order is sad, reminds me of the Infamous: Second Son defense force when people realized that it too was a 5 hour game. I don't think I've ever felt as swindled buying a game as when I bought that and beat it so fast.

my fave gaf threads are the ones with inflammatory misleading topic lines that get pages of reactions until on page 10 or so someone posts some clarification that completely invalidates the implied premise, after which the reaction stream usually continues unfazed for another 5 or 10 pages until someone notices and maybe eventually a mod changes the thread title or locks the thread

That's the down side with a high traffic board like NeoGAF.  Posting a thoughtful and nuanced opinion is a surefire way of getting ignored.  So if people want to be known on GAF, they have to crank up the hyperbole and try to be an internet personality.  With The Bore, there are just a couple dozen regulars so being some wacky zany guy who really loves Sony won't get you very far because those types of people are annoying as fuck in real life.
