Over the past 2ish years, I've had a friend who has been transitioning to a woman. I am incredibly proud of her, to go through this takes such triumph and bravery I can't even imagine going through. Along the way, she befriended a cis-gendered buddy of mine who considers herself a radical feminist, whose feminism has rubbed off on my Trans friend in ways that have become truly beneficial to her, and in ways that have made me feel kinda shitty about myself. They constantly talk about how cis-men are the devil, are ruining the world, etc. I think last year on Halloween they dressed up as "Men's Rights Activists" and had a party where they wore pseudo-beards, fedoras, etc. They joke with eachother that they want to go to Buffalo Wild Wings to "watch the men in their natural habitat," and I recall a time that one of them asked our male friend to grab their purse and bring it to the car, then the two of them make catty comment to each other about how he's holding it in a way that shows he's trying to secure his masculinity... shit like that. Each and every time they do or say something I try to brush it off as a singular offense that won't happen or be said again, but it seems that each and every time they come back hitting harder and stronger, and I think I've reached my limit.

What do you guys think? Am I overreacting or do I have a right to be mad? As I said earlier, I consider myself a feminist, albeit not to such a radical extent nor to an extent that I'm constantly reading about it and am up to date by the week. It personally hurts me to hear my friends say negative shit constantly about the group of people I am apart of, and I think I have the right to tell them to stop.

I mean, cis white men ARE responsible for a lot of horrible shit (not making any statements on causation vs correlation here, btw), but most of my friends are kinda facetious/sarcastic about stuff like that.

I know and understand that fully, which is why I'm hesitant to speak, especially since my trans-friend has many other problems to deal with such as high levels of anxiety and such. I don't want to be percieved as another typical toxic dude who contributed to the negative facets of the patriatchy, but I also don't want to be in fear of feeling like shit all the time I'm with them as well. I understand and openly criticize the negative aspects of our society with them, but I fall silent when it turns into a pissing match of male-hate.

Reddit is awful at managing its community. They're just proving time and time again that they can only stop trolls through a battle of attrition.
