Apple's stupid, sure, but at least they ditched directing criticisms towards their competitors in advertisements like 4 or 5 years ago.  Their ads are insular and are about their products and their products only.  Microsoft and Samsung feel the need to do damage control and try to diss Apple in their ads, despite the fact that they know Apple is gonna sell mobile shit like crazy no matter what the product, no matter how great the increment is.

Google does shit right.  Hardly any mention of Apple in any of their ads.

Addressing competition in advertising is like admitting you know your product is garbage.

Or your branding is garbage :hitler

Yeah. It's the advertising equivalent of a Slam Book.

exactly esch, it just comes down to preference.  I prefer to dick around with the latest apps from developer circles with great designers on board -- those are almost always exclusively on iOS first.  I don't give a shit about mobile games, so couldn't care less which platform handles gaming better.  I also prefer the physical build of iOS devices, too (although the last few HTC phones have been hot shit).

Android Kit Kat and L are leagues better than iOS, but I'm still giving the nod to the platform that has the developer support that I care about.

I gotta say I'm pretty happy I've left product wars behind mostly. I guess this shit all does the same shit anyway :yeshrug

I don't think I've ever really been a part of them honestly. In fact I hate my smartphone for failing to hold battery life. I want a dumbphone again for longevity.

In 2014, phone warz is silly. Just pick which ecosystem and features you prefer and go for it. They all mostly strive for the same thing anyways.

Is this one of those poor people phones I have been hearing about?

Imagine pulling out one of these things at a board meeting. How mortifying.

Sometimes when I walk into a big meeting, I turn to close the door and do the Samsung whistle to see who scrambles to mute their ringer. Presto, now I know who to fire.

Hoping I can go a full two years with my Nexus 5. It's a great phone, sans the battery and camera app. If the 4 is getting the L update, then the 5 better get whatever comes out next year.

Phone wars is beyond stupid. If all I wanted to do is call, text and use twitter I don't care what else it can do.

I haven't bought a cellphone in 5 years, my dad gave me his hand me down cell phones when he doesn't want them anymore. Can't say I'm bothered by it cause it works :yeshrug

Agree. I get my phone every two years...delete 98% of the stupid apps, and use until I qualify for a new one.

My buddies who run out and wait in line for the latest new thing crack me the fuck up. Who gives a fuck if your screen is 1.1"'s wider than mine, really?
YMMV
