No there is a GFWL/Win8 port of CT, and arcade version of CS that you can get to work on PC.

No. Calamity Trigger was the PC port (GfWL, the Win8 store, then Steam with online taken out from the earlier two ports). CS 1/2/Extend didn't get ported.

They do run on WinXP-ish hardware to where the arcade ROM was able to be "pirated" and ran on a modern PC if you had the horsepower to do that. King of Fighters 13 was similar, IIRC.

Idea Factory International is definitely interested in exploring the possibility of bringing Neptunia Re;Birth1 to the PC platform for PC users. However, nothing has been finalized at this moment. Well generally the little girls shit is what's more profitable for them I'd guess. It's like how cave's bullet hell stuff was loli fests at the end of their days, if you can add the unsavory types to your buyers along with the regular core audience that makes things slightly more sustainable? I blame desperate PS3/PSP/Vita fans who were willing to take shit like Neptunia because there were literally no other jrpgs out on the system.  Those kinds of games sold ok because of the dearth of titles in the genre and the sales led to bringing over more of that stuff.

I'm not playing Compile Heart/Idea Factory games... I went from playing cream-of-the-crop PS2 RPGs to playing mediocre-to-decent PS1/PS2 RPGs that I missed the first time through (my last 3 RPGs were Wild Arms 2, 4, and Suikoden 4... and I have Emerald Dragon SFC, Neugier, and Suikoden Tactics on deck).

i was thinking that Persona 3 made dating/vn more popular.  then a subset got a taste and went to loli dating games and more fan servicey stuff in general.

After a delay, KOF '98 UM Final Edition is available.

Played some matches online. Connection quality is all over the place. Some matches I played were absolutely horrible, XBLA '98 UM bad. Others were actually pretty decent, and a few were really good. So I don't feel like I got ripped off, but I also went in with very low expectations. When things were bad, the game just became about who had the best character for lag-spamming. Heidern is amazing when there's lag, BTW.

Playing this was just so damn awesome, though. I haven't touched '98 UM in at least four years and forgot what a fantastic fighter this is, especially with those changed-up EX characters. <3

Might just be a coincidence, but the first few matches I played were complete shit, connection-wise. Then Steam went down for maintenance. When I tried again, everything was better.

Inputs are being dropped for controllers though. It's apparently known to the developers for the "Final Edition" like the '98 Neo-Geo original that's included apparently doesn't have the problem.
