Getting an unpeated islay scotch SMH

Have you tried bruichladdich's Port Charlotte?

I'm not a big fan of the peat.

Its OK.  We are all sinners in our own ways.

I've been to a couple of whisky tastings(that I remember). The more peated the whisky, the less I enjoyed it.

Got a job offer at a small, 10-person software consultant company. It's for $5k more than I make now, but it has no dental plan (thankfully, I don't need braces). Their lead developer is a huge fan of retro gaming youtube videos, we were talking about Game Sack and Metal Jesus during the interview  8)

Also had a call with the software director at the Canon subdivision I applied to and he told me I'm still on the short list for that job.

Also, I'm on my way to another raise pretty soon. Thanks for fucking up, other designer that I used to work with.

One of my parents has always been less enthusiastic about my ostracization from the fam than the other one, which is a roundabout way of saying that they attempt to communicate with me at a frequency greater than 0. Sometimes it's to tell me about shit I'd attend if I gave a fuck (e.g. a graduation) and other times it's just the pathetic mewling of a sad husk.

Anyway, I got an email from them this week that clearly fell into the latter category described above and the only thing I thought after reading it was, "You wrote 'first born' when you meant 'firstborn' [idiot]."

I've got an interview for a remote C# / React / Redux position on Monday. Really hoping this goes well as the small agency I currently work for is an absolute mess.

Heh, I just got a call from the director of development at my current company (the one I will be leaving in 2 weeks due to the layoff) offering me a job on their ERP/HR financial software platform (the main reason we got bought out by our competitor was because of this product). I told him I already took the Canon offer but I really appreciate the offer and that I would definitely be in touch if anything changes.

I nylon strapped it to a dolly and rolled it around the back yard to the basement door. Not that it made it too much easier. The straps prevent the BOTTOM from sliding, not so much the top. I have the bruises to prove that one.

PC died and tried to figure out what was wrong this past Sunday. Figured it was the power supply, ordered a new one on the same day. Came in today (Monday), installed it.

Back in business. :success

Now I can go back to aimlessly browsing the Bore & Neogaf being productive.

Edit: Oh and it seems the PSU that died has a seven year warranty. :o Imma see if I can get a new one.

Can't believe how quickly I fixed this shit. I haven't done anything with PC hardware for years. Still got it brehs. :lawd
Definitely try to get that replacement PSU as well. Always handy to have a spare.

I live in West Virginia which is far from Vancouver.

Anyway I bought the game in Detroit. Like 5 hours away.

Not really a personal triumph but this year's Electric Zoo lineup looks ridiculously good for me. Above and Beyond, Deadmau5 b2b Eric Prydz, Yotto, Markus Schulz, and my favorite DJs of all time (Sasha and Digweed) are back touring together again.

Finally got off my ass and cleaned my gutters on Saturday. I was too lazy to do them before winter started, and we had so much snow that parts of my front gutters were barely hanging to the house. Cleaned all the dirt and leaves out, didn't take much time. Also re-secured the gutters so they're perfect again.

And of course we had a rain storm today so I feel like it was perfect timing

That's the funny thing, though. Things are waaay better at my job than they have been for the last 5 years I have worked here but my work/life balance is still shit. And I know it'll only get worse if I start working at a larger agency in my city where they just churn & burn through designers like canon-fodder. :doge

It was Friday, but I candyflipped for Radiohead at Coachella. It wasn't really intentional - I had started in the afternoon with an LSD tab and thought that was mostly over a couple hours later, so right before they started I took a molly I had. Turns out LSD has ebbs and flows and I was just in an ebb, and before I knew it both substances were hitting hard. Peaked on both around when they played Reckoner. One of the best music experiences of my life.

This definitely reads like a GLEN SHINOBI/Walrus post.

I'm 15-20 lbs away from my ideal weight, so more dad bod than morbid obesity atm.

I do think it's almost all water weight, which you tend to stop retaining when transitioning to <20g carbs a day.

And don't underestimate the effects of medication that can cause blood sugar fluctuations, slow your basal metabolic rate, etc.

Did you go off your meds with your doctor's agreement?

First one yes, stopped 2 weeks ago, second one no which I took myself off last week. The combo is called California Rocket Fuel.

It was the first one, Effexor, under my doc's expertise to stop abruptly that's given me trouble. Probably one of the worst weeks of my life, up there with the last time Effexor and I suddenly parted ways. I liked reading antidotes online with the occasional heroin addict chiming in to say how much worse Effexor's withdrawal was.
