4. HOW THE COS HANDLED HIS WILD CHILD

With her typical teenage carefree attitude and her cutting-edge fashion sense, Denise Huxtable became an audience favorite early in the series. Lisa Bonet, who portrayed the character, received the most fan mail and was the media darling during the first season of the show, particularly amongst male teenagers. Bonet exhibited unprofessional behavior on the set (arriving late every day, being argumentative, etc.), so Cosby chose to pass the buck by "spinning off"¯ her character into her own series, A Different World. Always a cheerleader when it came to touting higher education, Cosby was eager to spotlight the daily lives of students at a predominantly black university. Bonet thumbed her nose at this opportunity, however, and disrupted things further by announcing her pregnancy and engagement to musician Lenny Kravitz. Ever-tolerant Cosby temporarily brought Denise back to the Huxtable fold (until oversized shirts failed to conceal her impending motherhood) and then sent her character off to Africa to work as a photographer's assistant.

hmmmmm...perhaps she rejected his advances?
YMMV

Lisa Bonet could drive the final nail in. I always thought his treatment of her was suspect. In fact it lines up with how multiple victims describe him: manipulative father figure who became controlling and aggressive when challenged. Cosby berated her for having a child out of wedlock and overall seemed quite dick-ish towards her. She was easily the most popular person on the show so I can imagine Cosby attempting to "make" her a star, and when she got pregnant he threw her in the bushes.

Now she's married to Khal Drogo :ohhh

Photos of the rape robe

(Image removed from quote.)

"These are pictures of Bill Cosby taken by Janice Dickinson, just before he allegedly date raped her.

Dickinson says she went to Lake Tahoe in 1982 to see Cosby perform. She says the comedian told her to come to the hotel and he'd help her with her career.

Dickinson told ET after dinner he gave her a pill and some wine, and the last thing she remembered was Cosby "in a patchwork robe, dropping his robe and getting on top of me." She says the next morning she was naked with semen between her legs.

Dickinson tells TMZ ... she took these Polaroids of Cosby in the hotel room after she took the pill but before she blacked out. You see Cosby lounging in the colorful patchwork robe, with a 40 of malt liquor by his side.

Yea I used to roll my eyes at those procedural cop show scenes where someone busts through a detective's door and says "he just confessed to 17 more bodies!"

At this point I'm wondering who didn't (unwillingly) suck Cosby's dick.

He truly doesn't think he did anything wrong. Not saying that segment is him commenting in the situation but still, it's clear he views those women as nothing more than chicks who gave up their bodies for a shit at fame.

The thing with events like this is it makes everything the person did in the past look creepy. Look at this episode of the Cosby Show where he kisses Lisa Bonet on the lips.  :shaq

The thing is, if the allegations are true, raping unconscious white girls must really be a turn on for him.

Because otherwise, why rape them at all? Many of his victims were girls who came to him because he had star power. You'd expect the usual, creepy, Hollywood "you do me favors and I help you with your career". Desperation for fame is strong for many. Some girls would be disgusted, of course, but it's better than they wake up from a drug haze with Cosby juice between their legs. The latter is very risky, self-destructive behavior for someone with a lot to lose. True, he seems to have gotten away with it for so long, but why tempt fate repeatedly? It could be some weird compulsion for him.

Maybe he did just that for some of them. We know he had at least one affair. That's why we hear about the rapes and all not those consentual relationships. Maybe.

Too bad, Cosby. I liked your sitcoms in the 80's.

I'm going to assume Cosby isn't the only big Hollywood player who drugged and raped chicks. A fun time of seemingly mutual drug use at a party actually being one person getting drunk, the other waiting for her to pass out...yeah.

Especially in the 70s-80s when you could easily slut shame someone and never hear about it again due to slow media. That was apparently the prime of his raping career.

Every time I see it I hear the theme song in my head :lol

Top ten greatest sitcom of all-time

http://www.newsfromme.com/pov/col097-2/

note: i edited the cursing back in

Quote
Best Redd Foxx story I ever heard occurred not in the back seat of a Las Vegas taxi but, rather, in the showroom of one of that town's casino-hotels. One of the many things that Sanford and Son did for Mr. Foxx was that it elevated him to the status of Vegas Headliner, presumably at an appropriate income level.

But, of course, it also brought with it a problem that had plagued Buddy Hackett, Don Rickles and other monologists who gained fame on TV. Audiences flocked to see Redd, but many were there to see the G-rated geezer he played on NBC, not the X-rated joke teller of a zillion party records. He'd get up and do his act — the same act he'd been doing all his life, the only kind he cared (or knew how) to do. There'd always be a few outraged patrons, stomping out over repeated uses of the "f" word, muttering, "He isn't like that on TV." The hotel management had to post little warning signs outside that the Mr. Foxx's show was for adults. That cut down on the storm-outs, though not completely.

This story involves a night when they weren't flocking to see Redd — a night when no one walked out on him. In fact, it was the other way around: Redd Foxx walked out on his audience.

(edited)

This took place at the Hacienda Hotel on a rainy Sunday night. Vegas was sparsely-peopled that evening and Redd had a lot of empty seats at his early show. When the time came to start the 11:00 performance, there were only ten bodies in the audience.

Opening the show was Slappy White, another veteran performer who had made much the same, hard climb as Mr. Foxx, reaching a slightly lower rung. Slappy did his twenty minutes, then a voice intoned, "Ladies and gentlemen…the star of Sanford and Son, Mister Redd Foxx!"

The small band on the stage struck up the Sanford and Son theme: "Yum ta da-da, yum ta da-da da-da-dum, yum ta da-da…"  Redd Foxx, resplendent in a tuxedo, his Norelco-shaved head gleaming in the follow-spot, strutted out on stage. He reached the microphone and peered out in the house. Then, after a moment or two, he screamed out in a loud voice —

"I AIN'T DOIN' A SHOW FOR TEN FUCKIN' WHITE PEOPLE!"

Then he turned and marched off the stage. The band struck up his theme again: "Yum ta da-da, yum ta da-da da-da-dum, yum ta da-da…"

The lights came up, the waiters passed through the place distributing refunds…and the show was over.
