Technically it would be fat shaming if I tried to make him feel ashamed of being fat; I introduced his weight both to subject him to the kind of taunting the article decried (I assume having not read it) as well as to paint him as a clueless moron incapable of even the most rudimentary grasp of cause and effect as much of media criticism relies on projecting psychological outcomes from inputs.

Kulturkampf is serious business.

Been so out of the loop I had no idea this was even coming out until the other bore thread about it.  I can't tell if I'm personally experiencing comic book movie fatigue or if I'm just starting to get burnt out on big Hollywood movies entirely.  I'm not all that excited about Star Wars or Batman v Superman either.  Only one I'm even marginally looking forward to is Fast and Furious which I should finally have time to see next week.

In my case, I think I'm burnt on Hollywood movies. I can't speak for anyone else here but I suspect we may be several of sharing the problem that we are simply slipping out of the demographic they cater to (ie getting old).

Saw Avengers: Age of Ultron today, and loved it. Review in the newspaper said one and a half stars. What a load of crap. Saw Twitter explode because Stark made an obscure rape joke on the heels of fatigued Evans and Renner making slut shaming comments about Black Widow. Now everyone seems livid that Whedon isn't feminist enough.

Saw avengers.  Liked it better than the first.  So fucking good.  It handled having like 10 characters really well.
