I hate new management

We got a new VP and naturally he wants to make a mark with his group.  Like all American executives, their first instinct is to cut the budget.  Except we really don't have any more discretionary spending so any further cuts means breaking the law by not complying with regulations.  This frustrates him so he's been spending the better part of two months trying to come up with creative ways to interpret regulations in order to get out of doing something.  We tell him why it can't be done, he pushes it further, Legal steps in and says "lol no" to his proposals and it dies.  On a staff call today, he had a mini-meltdown about how he's been unable to cut costs.  So one of his direct reports asked what the company's target goal was.  He said that there wasn't a company target.  Silence set in as we realized that he made us chase our tails for weeks in order to show off to the President.

I've only been in KKKapitalist Amerikkka for six years and I've seen three department turnovers and it's the same old shit: new leader steps in, says things are going to change, can't change it, and then he/she gets scuttled off after 2-3 years.  I can see the cycle a mile away like a shitty Sonic title but I just hate that I have to spend an appreciable amount of time on something that won't amount to anything.

Back in high school, there were a couple of guys on my football team who'd go mudding.  They took their shitty trucks and get it muddy.  Then if there was a chance it would rain, they'd put a tarp over their truck so as not to wash away the mud splatters.

From cycling to Formula 1, if there's a crash that's getting attention instead of, you know, the race. I get it, the threat of death excites you in your insipid existence but I actually want to watch the race.

I recently found out about Formula E. (Open wheel electric engine racing.) Unlike Formula 1 I can watch it on YouTube. Guess what one of the frequently suggested videos is on this subject? The most intense crashes of the season.

More sports need to let you pay to opt out of the international feed and offer a more tailored viewing experience.

The current state of mainstream rap and urban radio. The last few years have almost mirrored the 90s with respect to explosive events that are largely viewed/defined along racial lines. Cops shooting unarmed black people, the Voting Rights Act getting gutted, blatant disrespect aimed at blacks and Hispanics through the media, fucking George Zimmerman, Confederate flags, black churches being burned down...yet unlike the 90s there has been an almost complete absence of militant or political rap outside of the underground. Everything is "turn up" party shit. Even the non radio tracks have no social worth. Granted Kendrick Lamar had a big album this year about all this shit, and Vince Staples released a similar album this week...but radio is tipped nearly 100% to records that sound the same. This trap shit is brain dead, I swear to god...and that's almost exclusively what is getting play on urban radio. I've been listening to pop stations lately and the diversity is interesting. It's not all EDM for instance.

Music often reflects the times but right now? Nope, not at all. I understand most music will always be party or love based, I'm not upset about that; it's not like Ice Cube was getting play in the early 90s (but he still had a presence). But with all this shit popping off the fact that almost no one has shit to say on the mainstream level is stunning.
