Eh, I don't buy the initial cost angle. Gaming itself, fuck, computing in general had huge up-front cost and took off. I don't think VR is going to follow a similar trajectory, not because of cost, but because it's not immediately apparent why you would want to strap googles to your face that blind you to the outside world and might still make you hurl on top of that. They need their early adopters to be evangelists for it.
